According to the email that Optus sent me -
they have my:
name, date of birth, email, phone number, address associated with your account,
and the numbers of the ID documents you provided such as drivers licence number or passport number.
This is extremely concerning, as all those data are considered "primary"identifiers
by thousands of financial bodies and government instrumentalities, and even the
Australian Taxation Office and the Federal police.
All is well apparently: Optus chief executive, South African Kelly Bayer Rosmarin,
has "apologised to customers" and said she was “devastated” by the attack. Not
nearly as devastated as the nearly 10 million adversely affected Optus customers
I'd be guessing. She even managed a few crocodile tears at an interview.
Last year, she purchased a modest house in Vaucluse, Sydney, for a mere $15 million.
Must be a struggle to live in such a tiny, cramped shack with only six bedrooms.
