1995 Texas law could shield Alex Jones from paying the
vast majority of the $50 million defamation case judgment.

Democrats in 1995 enacted lawsuit reforms that limit the amount of damages plaintiffs collect.

A Texas jury has awarded a nearly $50 million judgment in a defamation trial against extremist talk show host Alex Jones for claiming the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a hoax. He was sued by the parents of a 6-year-old boy killed in the tragedy.

The question is, will Texas law spare the Infowars host and his company Free Speech Systems tens of millions under a 27-year-old statute limiting the amount that a jury can make a plaintiff pay?

The answer is likely to be decided during the appeals process, but if the statutory limit is applied by the courts to Jones’ case, he could be forced to pay
less than $5 million in total damages,
legal experts say.

With assets estimated as much as $365+ million Mr. Jones won't even break a bead of sweat, & whatever the final damages to be awarded comes down to, that amount will also probably face multiple appeals.

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

That's gold.

Lets see if I have this right,
Both of you think that telling outright lies is a good way of making money?
Jones, told lies, by using controversy he increases his audience thereby increasing  AD revenue so he makes even more money.
When confronted and proven to be an outright liar in court, you both think that the law which limits his damages is a good thing, am I correct so far?

There is something seriously wrong with both of you if you think that a known liar should be able to say whatever he likes to enable him to make even more money.

It's easy to see how that sort of thinking is smacking this world we live in.
Have you both no morals, you should hang your heads in shame.

Calm down.
It's farrkinng hilarious that he's going to use a law the dems have past, to save his own bacon.

I also do not believe money is the answer to fixing the problem.
Everyone is so farrking greedy these days.
Like mobile speed camera vans. They raise shyte loads of cash but do not stop the problem at all.
