Is the justice system being influenced by revenge here.

It appears that the story of how we seek justice is now about destroying people to gain revenge. What is gained by completely crippling a person which is praised for its brutality.

This is a lesson we are teaching our future generations, its no longer about rehabilitation, compassion and understanding but how to destroy.

Nope, I don't believe so. It's for blatantly and indiscriminately promulgating
erroneous and grossly offensive claims—from a witless purveyor of lies,

That you seem to think that Jones deserves "compassion" for his vile activities

you seem confused. Calling him out for deliberately being a deceitful liar who has no problem tormenting the relatives of murdered victims is no more 'promoting hate towards Jones' than is calling out any other liar. Hate typically has nothing to do with it.

Jones, told lies, by using controversy he increases his audience thereby increasing AD revenue so he makes even more money.
When confronted and proven to be an outright liar in court, you both think that the law which limits his damages is a good thing, am I correct so far?

Since Jone$ declared bankruptcy before the end of the trial this will more than likely be kicked-down to bankruptcy court where he will still have to pay; Jone$ court sanctions alone has already cost him millions and he about to face a perjury charge which could land him in prison.
