Australia's largest fire season was 1974-75 and that was during the global cooling scare. But does that count?

They missed the 1974-75 fire season by this much...

And of course fuel load is what burns. If you don't reduce fuel load, regularly, there will be bigger fires. That's pretty basic.

Actually they are burning less.
