wealth taxes have previously failed to tax wealth-creating assets which you refer to as "certain income", because assets (as opposed to wages) have proved difficult to tax.
Rental income is not the asset. It is from the asset.

Until systemic poverty is eliminated, wealth above a certain level needs to be returned to the community, via taxes on wealth.
See above. Now address the Law of Diminishing returns. Where the more money you put into it the more it costs for that last 10-20%.

essentials by defintion are required by ALL humans for non-poverty-scarred existence.
So there is no precise definition, merely that which you want to call essentials.

secure housing, access to healthy food, and above poverty wage employment.
Ah. Onbly those three? Got it. Now address the elephnat in the room of those who do not wish to be employed, as it is easier to live that way. You know - No need to get up if you don't feel like it. house sharing because it is cheaper and fits what you want, Shared expenses.

Logic: plentiful resources - as in Oz - means no need for systemic poverty.
Logic only works if all people use logic. Those that don't - don't wanty it.

As I have said before logic is not foolproof, it only creates bigger fools.

I propose a treasury-managed economy, taking account of competition for available resurces to avoid inflation, to mobilize the nation's resources, rather than the current failing (central and private) bank-managed economy which relies on bank created debt money. In the former, the public sector has access to debt free money to fund the public sector.
And then you have politics and politicians.

Certainly laissez faire neoclassical classical economists "don't know squat" ....and now we have a housing affordability crisis we can't deal with, and an immigration crisis caused by importing overseas students to fund unis.
But you can.

Indeed, the Keynesian 2% unemployment and housing for all (1946- 1973) never recovered; and now we have a c-o-l and housing crisis.
And we never had housing for all.

There is no historical or economic record of the Whitlam government taking money from public service superannuation reserves or member accounts to pay for general budget expenditures.
Then you research is wrong. The members of the ADF were paying into super, it was taken by the Whitlam Government. The ADF is by exrension a government service.
"Circa 1973. $126 million in accumulated DFRDB /DFRB superannuation funds reallocated into consolidated revenue. Funds declared untaxed. (The DFRB fund had approximately $160M as at 30 June 1972 but adjustments were required) The final balance of $126M was actually transferred into Consolidated Revenue in 1975 by the Whitlam Government."

poverty had existed before and during the Gilded Age, but wealth had been reserved for royalty. The 'robber barons' changed all that:
So where was the "royalty" outside of Eurpe that was involved in this?

American businees men were not and are not royalty.

Now you can't walk down Sydney's George St on a Saturday night street without falling over homeless people.
Which is so different to China as they move them on, right quick...or else.
