They will always lose me on those... these dorks who spend time and money on an 'education' to work out these philosophies have never, in the main, ever once in their lives missed a square meal or been oppressed or suffered from discrimination, inflammatory messages from Tim Theotherlongname* notwithstanding.

School is about teaching children the four Rs' - readin', 'ritin', an' 'rithmetic AND Righteous behaviour.

All the other sh1t can wait until they are much older and can actually decide about as opposed to it becoming part of their mental fibre... that's critical analysis theory ..... something 'educators' need to be taught instead of how wonderful  and superior they are.

Sydney University tells prospective students “not everyone has been taught how to unlearn” and exhorts them to “challenge the established, demolish social norms” in areas like same-sex marriage, indigenous land rights, peace studies, refugees and the environment.

The same university employs academics who argue a curriculum based on a liberal view of education is guilty of promoting “whiteness” – defined as a curriculum that privileges Western civilisation and that leads to “different forms of domination and marginalization – such as racism, sexism, classism, historical injustice and prejudice based on religion”.

In universities across Australia studying the literary canon has been reduced to deconstructing texts in term of power relationships involving gender, ethnicity and class, knowledge has no inherent value as it is simply a social construct designed to reinforce privilege and students are taught the history of Western civilisation is riven with inequality, oppression and violence against the ‘Other’.

Home school your children if you can and don't let them go to university to study any of the inhumanities. Warn them about the ideological stupidity of universities even if they want to study a profession like medicine, law, engineering.

In his 1996 Boyer Lectures titled ‘The View from the Bridge,’ the eminent Australian academic Pierre Ryckmans (an eminent Sinologist and man of letters originally from Francophone Belgium) argued the university as a bastion of learning was dead.  Such was the destructive impact of cultural-left theory and the success of the left’s long march that universities were no longer committed to concepts like wisdom, truth and the pursuit of knowledge. That was 25 years ago.

Seems to just roll out the work "woke" when they have nothing ? Is there any substance here ?

What we have is the word Woke and CRT which is not used in education ?

Wokeness is US Government Policy

It is important to clarify what wokeness actually is.  It has 3 components:

1) A belief that any disparities in outcomes favoring whites over non-whites or men over women are caused by discrimination (Sometimes wokeness cares about other disparities too, like fat/nonfat, but those are given less attention. I’m putting aside LGBT issues, which seem to be at an earlier stage of wokeness in which the left is still mostly fighting battles regarding explicit differences in treatment rather than disparate outcomes, although the latter does get attention sometimes.)

2) The speech of those who would argue against 1 needs to be restricted in the interest of overcoming such disparities, and the safety and emotional well-being of the victimized group in question.

3) Bureaucracies are needed that reflect the beliefs in 1 and 2, working to overcome disparities and managing speech and social relations.
