Arapiles Dyurrite plan published
The State Government has finalised a new management plan outlining access and rock climbing arrangements at Mount Arapiles Dyurrite State Park.
It said 98 per cent of climbs would remain open under the new plan.
Minister for Environment Jaclyn Symes said the park was one of Australia's great climbing destinations, and the changes meant climbers could continue to enjoy it for years to come.

The proposal scales back Parks Victoria's 2024 recommendation to close up to 2000 of the park's roughly 3300 rock climbing routes, to protect cultural heritage.
Cultural heritage = 'yeah, bro - moi people useta walk there sometimes, but not any more.. but whenever we see a chance to stop someone else enjoying things like nature, we never hesitate to claim 'culture'.
Did you, BAC, see the Hanson policy platform plank of 'getting rid of the Aboriginal industry? Look around you, Grasshoppers - it has already gone way too far under the tutelage of those poor souls locked into cubicles somewhere in the capital cities, no real experience of real life etc... and real people across the country are demanding proper change and restoration to sanity.
You, Jackie-Jackie - have as much Right to use national park and crown land as anyone else - and then some... when the mullet ran in the lake near my property, the neighbour came over and said - "Let's take the boat out and net some." When I said wasn't it illegal to net inland, he said - "I'm Aboriginal." ... freshwater mullet baked on an open fire in foil with butter and garlic...
I've long advocated giving every Aboriginal family a free block of land and a home to live in and use as a base - an incredibly generous offer in this day and age when many Wharteys are forced onto the beach .... now I reckon it's time to get this going - a one-time offer and if refused - no more in any way.
Either we all live by the same rules of ownership and work for it or we don't and eventually civil war in all its manifestations breaks out. At the moment it's the slow grind of 'brushfire' lawfare .. with specious claims over everything without merit, and 'decisions' being made behind closed doors behind heavy veils by unelected but appointed 'public servants' with zero real experience or knowledge, but held under tight control by being owned by the government of the day... and obeying without question.
Time to take back the farm...
