Long Covid is an issue, affects more than 10 percent of those who contract Covid19. if we let this loose as aquaman is proposing then we may find that we will end up with a whole generation of disabled people.
Quote:
Research indicates about 10 per cent of the COVID population will suffer from the prolonged condition and half of more than 73,000 of those admitted to hospital had one or more medical complications.

long covid will become the perfect excuse for many chodes to never work again.

chode   "give me the Disability pension,  i am really tired and dont like to get out of my pyjamas."

centrelink     sorry, that just seems like laziness

chode "but i have long covid."

centrelink  "which bank account should we deposit the money into" Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
You trivialise a serious issue. These people with long Covid arent  dole bludgers,  a lot of them are medical professionals. Anything else you want to be wrong about while you are on a roll?

the number of countries that have achieved 80 % fully vaccinated is
0

and yet nearly every other country has given up on lockdowns

Some of these countries have also a much higher rate of natural immunity than Australia, ie people who had it and recovered.
It appears that as the virus mutates the immunity disappears. a lot of people who initially had Covid have again fallen victim to the Delta variant.

lets look at brussells

Latest trends - Monday 2 August
Over the past seven days

Average daily infections: 1,415

and yet

From 30 July, outdoor events can be organised with up to 5,000 people attending, wearing masks, or up to 3,000 people indoors. This includes trade shows and conferences, which have been largely absent from the agenda since last spring. Youth camps are possible with up to 200 people, including the possibility of overnight stays.

The rules on shopping have also been relaxed since 30 July. The maximum number of customers per store - which was based on each shop's surface area - no longer applies.

You will get there, youve just been wrong 3 times in 3 posts in the same thread so not sure where you are seeing white flags coming from. And because you are too intellectually incapable of understanding, so called "freedom day" is the ability to go maskless and not to social distance. Lockdowns still in force where and when required. Wink Just like every single country in the world. Now claim victory again, thats always funny when you are shown to be pathetically ignorant like now. Grin

bobby,

scomo says lockdowns dont end until we get to 70 % vax (we are currently under 25 %).

by aquascoots impeccable maths, i would say we are looking at christmas before it ends (at the earliest).

for those who enjoy a lockdown, its going to be a wonderful 6 months  Grin Grin Grin

daniel the donut man will be very very angry by then

Lockdowns - when will they end?
We don't know - not even Dirty Dan knows -

It's a riddle wrapped up inside an enigma.

What has now changed in England?
Social distancing

No limits on how many people can meet
1m-plus guidance removed (except in some places like hospitals and passport control when entering)
Face coverings no longer required by law, although the government still "expects and recommends" them in crowded and enclosed spaces
Some shops and transport operators will still require masks
Events and gatherings

Nightclubs can reopen
Pubs and restaurants no longer table-service only
No limits on guests at weddings and funerals
No limits on people attending concerts, theatres or sports events
No restrictions on communal worship
Travel

Guidance recommending against travel to amber list countries removed
Under-18s and fully vaccinated adults no longer have to self-isolate after visiting amber list countries - although those returning from France to the UK must still quarantine for 10 days

NSW records 199 COVID-19 cases as Premier Gladys Berejiklian sets new vaccination target

...

NSW recorded 199 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian revealed she wants to see
6 million jabs administered in NSW by the end of August.

About 3.9 million doses have been put in arms in the state so far.

Greater Sydney's lockdown is due to end on August 29, at this stage.

"Six million jabs is roughly half the population with at least one or two doses," she said.

"That gives us additional options as to what life looks like on 29 August."

ScoMo is on TV - he said we must all get vaccinated  - at least 80% - he says AstraZeneca & Pfizer are  good.

Gladys says  NSW will have 6 million vaccinated in August  - this month.
