bit of a concern....perhaps
Jun 18th, 2021 at 9:16am

The little old lady up the road kept hearing something in the wall.

She described it as a hissing or crackling sound.

On examination I found the powerpoint was a little less than perfect.
Water from a roof leak had run down inside the cavity and was shorting a little bit.

Replaced and the leak now fixed.

whatcha recon?

Lucky the lady was on the ball and noticed the noise, and that you were able to help.  Could have ended badly.

I tend to be the go to for the elderly in the street and people they know.

Sometimes the job is too big for me to fix, so I get someone in, like a blocked sewer pipe (not for me)

But reasonably simple stuff or even just replacing bulbs I consider my civic duty.

And its good for the Karma.

The real concern is an unqualified amateur granny exploiter tampering with electrical wiring which is in fact illegal.

If Valkie had any morals he would have hired a competent licensed electrician to perform the work.

Now when the granny dies in a house fire from defective wiring her heirs can sue Valkie.

Please don't thank me. Effusive fawning and obeisance of disciples, mendicants, and foot-kissers embarrass me.

Back again today, this time her tap washer was destroyed.

Why do old people turn off taps soo hard.

I replaced both sink tap washers and the shower washers.

Lucky I have plenty of them, I was given about 100 buy an old guys wife when he passed away.
He knew I helped people and thought I could use them.

At least I didn't have to re-seat the washers, it was simply over tightening of them.

If her house burns down now due to an electrical fault, and the insurance company finds out Valkie was the last one to do electrical work, it would invalidate any insurance claims unless he has an electrical license.

calm you tits cods. Whats wrong with you? I'm just pointing out the legal ramifications of what he's doing. Personally I think he's done a good thing, I've done similar many times ...but when I did it I did so knowing my legal position. I certainly wouldn't be providing photographic evidence online if I were in his shoes
