Delayed Covid vaccines = delayed O.S. Trips
Apr 15th, 2021 at 2:20am

We are fortunate in Australia we are virtually COVID free, unlike all those countries that are rife with escalating Covid cases.

We should therefore, not feel panic because of vaccine delays?

And it’s been said... we may not see the start to overseas travel until next year?
Maybe.

But that means no O.S. tourists can come into our country either?
Or will they be able to if they have certified Covid vaccination certificates?

If I read right, even with the vaccination, one can still get COVID, but it wouldn’t be as severe.
My dilemma I have with that is.... there’s a higher chance to get  Covid “out there” than within our own Australia.

I’m not confident of travel too soon.... maybe once the world heals more, and there’s this magic “herd immunity” that may happen I keep reading about.

Has anyone an urge and confidence to travel overseas?

I want to, but the 2 countries I want to go to are so badly effected with high COVID cases, unfortunately.
Maybe after next year? 2023.
Last year, 2020, we thought this year, 2021, it would be under control...
2022 will be the make it or break it year for Covid free travel.

Yeah... fingers crossed.

yes, I am keen to go OS.  Feel the same as you.
Will wait till MANY others have been OS.
covid will be here for quite some time.

I guess travel will open up one country at a time, there will be hiccups.

Even if most Australians were vaccinated, you could pick up a virus overseas and then bring it back to Australia to spread it around to people who do not have the vaccine for the new variant. We should be treated the virus as another cold or influenza. The virus is going to keep on mutating. And for what little I know about coronavirus, it seems to be a virus that would die off in a few years because of people developing an immunity from catching it rather than what a virus would do for you.
