The stranded container ship blocking the Suez Canal was re-floated on Monday and is currently being secured, Inch Cape Shipping Services said in a post on Twitter. The ship was freed by the Egyptian crew.

The Suez Canal Authority had earlier said in a statement that tugging operations to free the ship had resumed.

Many ships waiting have live animals on them and they are in deep distress. Oil supplies were running very low and Syria was already rationing oil. Car industries requiring parts were close to shutting down.

Cairo, Egypt (CNN)The Ever Given container ship has been partially dislodged after blocking the Suez Canal for almost a week, authorities say, but efforts to fully refloat it are likely to continue for some time.
There were promising signs early Monday when the rear of the vessel was freed from one of the canal's banks, but the boss of the Dutch company working on the operation says its bow is still stuck "rock solid."
Egyptian officials struck a more optimistic note, saying that crews plan to refloat the vessel later Monday. But the shipping crisis that has dominated headlines and captured the world's attention for a week appears destined to continue.

Peter Berdowski, CEO of Boskalis, whose sister company SMIT salvage is working to free the ship, said the vessel had been rotated about 20 degrees. "That is actually the easiest part," he told Dutch radio on Monday morning. Moving the bow away from the canal bank, where it remains stuck in sandy clay, will be more difficult, he added.

CAIRO (Reuters) - The giant container ship that blocked the Suez Canal for almost a week was fully floated on Monday and traffic in the waterway would resume, the canal authority said in a statement.

A Reuters witness saw the ship moving and a shipping tracker and Egyptian TV showed it positioned in the centre of the canal.

orders of the people who came aboard to
help him guide his ship.
It gets difficult to blame anyone as who was in charge?
In theory they shouldn't have even been there in high winds and a sand storm.
