If the person of interest repented, they were allowed off any punishment. They were given two chances of repetence. OK... just as Neoclassical economics text-books, loaded with unreal assumptions, are "Urtexts".

Get a grip: communism was a reaction against human rights abuses resulting from capitalist greed in the early days of the Industrial Revolution; and today Neoclassical economics results in governments enforcing 'austerity' on low wage workers, which is why democracy is in crisis around the world.

Little to do with contending religious scriptures which - when read by religious fundamentalists - are THE cause of Jewish and hence Islamic terrorism now.

(The latter wouldn't exist today if Israel had not been created on the back of "Promised Land " scriptural mythology. Evatt should have worked to ensure both Jews and Muslims could live with equal rights in Palestine).
