If the New Testament replaced the Old Testament, then their should be no more editions of The Bible containing the Old Testament, Soren. The NT could not have happened without the OT. The Covenant with the Jews (Torah) and the other books of the OT attesting to that covenant were extended to all humanity in the NT and that new covenant was placed on a new footing, a new way of relating God to man. Since the non-covenant parts of the OT are mostly the history of the Jews, it remains instructive, especially since the New covenant was made in the name of a Jew. It would be impossible to understand the NT without knowing the OT.
