My advice Lols is save your money and don't go to Wally World. Not for a while yet.

By the look of the Fed Govt opening up more Internationals to come in, as if Australia can deal with this Roll Eyes effectively in protecting this country. I very much doubt the Virus will go away this time.
Tourism/holidaying is what has spread the Virus (from OS) around considerably in Australia.
With the Virus accelerating considerably and mutating new strains which seem even more deadlier - I think the next few years are going to be far far worse than 2020.
2021 is the year Australia falls in line with the rest of the world. Australian Medical lack the Staff (because everyone sits on the Dole) and will fail to keep up despite the ego of 'technological superiority', etc.

ScoMo "But we can let in a few people, it'll be ok. It's all about Jobs and Economy... all about the $$$ - just ask Hansie Cronje "But I didn't mean to take the money"

It's actually nice being forced to stay in NoooSouth. We had a week down the coast and actually just about to go back down for another 3 days today, then we have 5 days up the coast.

Yes. I think many people don't appreciate their own States.
Let alone their own country.
Why the need to 'flee' to have a good time?
The Tourism Industry (as much a rip off as the American Health system) in Australia and Qantas are trying to drum up the drive for Australians to fly overseas 'soon' - as if the Virus will go away. "Australians have always been famous for travelling overseas... blah, blah"

There is more to the Australian and local Economy than saving an Industry that was a Rip Off in the first place.

Daughter arrived at airport in Coolangatta okay.
First thing she noticed... everyone took their masks off!
She kept hers on.
So that’s wrong isn’t it? Until one had to to tested for Covid?
There’a an error in that way.
And in the shuttle bus no one wore a mask, yet daughter kept hers on, up front riding shotgun, with window open away from everyone!

What the hell is wrong with people!!!
Wear the friggin mask until test and remove once in self isolation.

What part of that is hard to comprehend about this virus which can spread????

In the Spirit of Tasmania you are supposed to wear a mask in public areas in the ship (can take them off on deck.) Yet there are bars and restaurants in the ship—and people eating and drinking took their masks off, naturally  but theoretically eating and drinking should have been restricted to the (outside) decks, not inside the ship!

Half measures!

Good on your daughter Lols for having consideration, caution and common sense. As someone who did many nightshifts in the spluttering, coughing, sneezing, spitting Wards of Respiratory and seeing how contagia spreads malignantly from person to person - I salute her.
It's those little efforts that collectively make that big effort towards success to a greater degree.

Thank you Jasin... I will tell her you wrote that. She also was saying “at least I did the right thing”
And she saw how clean, hygienic and diligent those people/nurses/pathologists were at the testing station and she had glowing comments about it, and felt a bit angry at people that may not do the right thing by them to keep Covid out.
She says to me “Queensland is so clean and shame on anyone that does not respect it to stay that way!”

I’m actually thinking of reporting the slackness at airports and lack of information and lack of SMS on travellers mobile phones of requirements!

Heck... I’m a Victorian... locked out all year from entering Queensland, and I even feel concern for the “Wally” State (as you do eloquently put it Grin)

Got to laugh at any suggestion QLD is the Wally state after all the fiascos in NSW & Victoria. Grin

I remember someone telling me an old saying about - "when you point a finger there's always 3 fingers pointing back at you".

I know who the dumbarse/Wallys have been. Tongue

True. It might be an outdated nickname like Victoria being Mexico. But so far, there are no new alternatives besides some Tourism promos like Sunshine State (all other states are in perpetual darkness) and Premier State (no other States have Premiers), etc.  Grin

It’s a little clearer now.... red, orange, green zones ....
All require permit application for entry into Victoria.
Red zones are limited with applications, and have to quarantine 14 days in motel as well as do Covid test before and after.
Orange zones do test and self isolate until results
Green zone okay to enter Vic but all entries are applied via online for permits.

I will wait a few days to see how it all pans out before booking flights etc

There must be something we are not being told for this permit application to be enforced so suddenly.

I have applied for permits to return back to Victoria from Green Zone in Queensland! But that could all change in any given time what green, orange, and red zones will be!!
Travelling is starting to be a pain in the blurter.

At the border checkpoint in SA after asking for my entry permit number I was asked if I had visited NSW or Qld. Of course I answered “Tasmania!” and was let in.

When are you returning to Vic?
