Vic... I got their “higher than normal call volumne” message on Jetstar contact number... but the message was that if our flights are effected or cancelled, they will let us know
So it’s a day by day wait for now.

I’m yet to find out about needing to have test and self isolate when arriving in Queensland, so... any news update would be appreciated.

You have to be tested on arrival, and stay in quarantine until negative result.  You cannot got to nursing homes, hospitals or prisons.

Lols - So far if you come you will have to be tested & self isolate.......

that could change if things get worse before your departure date.

I have nervously booked flights to go to Queensland from Melbourne mid month!

Let’s see if we can finally get there to sort out what we couldn’t do last year due to border lockdown!

I see on news as from midnight tonight...the whole of NSW will have borders closed to them, rather than just hot spots.

Well... now the cases of Covid have grown in Melbourne as a result of travellers from NSW!

So fingers crossed ... yeah...  Undecided

Thank you my dear fellow Queenslanders.
Now my next query and for those travelling into Qld ... do we go to our accommodation after arriving at airport, then proceed into getting Covid tested until results?
Also, which is better out if these locations to go get tested...

https://www.goldcoast.health.qld.gov.au/coronavirus-covid-19/visiting-fever-clin...

And, are there more testing sites or are these ones in links only ones in Gold Coast area?

I will try phoning airport again as it was closed yesterday.

Hopeless getting through to airport so I left message (bet they don’t get back to me) then it was hopeless getting through to airlines, I phoned
con-x-ion shuttle bus, they outlined things and I phoned Qld Covid hotline.

Results to this date and time is coming from Melbourne (Victoria) is okay as it’s not a declared hot spot by Qld.

Must wear mask.
Can come into airport, collect luggage, get shuttle to where your accommodation is, then can go to get a Covid test at either Hospital in Gold Coast, or UpperCoonera respiratory clinic.
Then... self isolate until results come in.
Can be on average 2 days.
But can really be anywhere from 24 hours up to 5 days.

Hope this helps other travellers from Victoria into Queensland.
For now.

I got the same message when I was down in Wollongong a couple of weeks ago. I had wanted to change my flight but wanted to check some details because thats the same weekend all the lockdowns started up again. I tried multiple times, each time holding for at least 30 mins, and never once got to speak to anyone. I'm pretty sure that message is on a loop, and you're not even on hold when you get it. They're just pretending to put you on hold.

I think you have to go straight to a testing center but what do I know. Roll Eyes

You can find all the test sites here.

https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/stay...

which one is best for you depends on where in the GC you are heading.

Ahh excellent link Mr. Smith  Smiley
I like this as I can type in our suburb and find closest Covid testing site and can click on “no doctor referral”
This takes out a lot of uncertainty where to go and hopefully not too long a queue to wait.
Be interesting to see if at Gold Coast airport they help arrival passengers with this list etc
If they have their act together that is!

PS... still no return phone call after I left message on Jetstar contact number. But... I will give it time... very interesting to see how long it will take.

Good propaganda, Comrade. At over 90% recovery rate we must still scare the hell out of everybody. War is peace. This is progress.

Since when has commonsense & being able to do what is asked of you "fear"?

And that is the only place you will get up to date, spot on information.  The horse's mouth, so to speak.
