Yadda,
Do Christians still follow the Torah?
Was Jesus a perversion of Judaism?
Jesus was a Jewish man, and a Torah [law] teacher.
Matthew 19:16
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life,
keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
"Thou shalt do no murder,
Thou shalt not commit adultery,
Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Honour thy father and thy mother."Matthew 19:16-19
The above [Matthew 19:16-19] were quoted by Jesus, directly from the book(s) of the law, the Torah,
Exodus 20:12-16
Deuteronomy 5:16-20
And including,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. From, Leviticus 19:18
What was Jesus message?
#1, Love God. Matthew 22:36-37
#2, Obey God's !!laws!!, study the scriptures. Matthew 19:16-19, John 14:15-21, Luke 24:45
#3, Love your fellow man. Matthew 22:39, Leviticus 19:18
Jesus did not come to 'dismiss' or to destroy God's law [
God's law of righteousness].
Jesus came to call men to repentance. And to call all men to
a renewed relationship, with their God.
Hosea 4:1
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy,
nor knowledge of God in the land.
The 'knowledge of God' spoken of in Hosea 4:1, is
the knowledge of God's righteousness.
Psalms 58:1
Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
3
The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
Estranged from the knowledge of God, from the womb.
Jeremiah 4:22
For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding:
they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
The Jewish people today, need to renew their relationship, with their God.
Isaiah 42:1
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
Isaiah 42:19
Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD'S servant?
Isaiah 49:3
And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
.
Jesus came, to be a propitiation for sin, for our sin.
Jesus life [sacrifice and death] was a propitiation for sin, our own sin.
If we accept and acknowledge that bargain, with God, God promises to accept us.
How does any individual show, that he/she accepts and acknowledges that bargain, with God ?
The first thing any person must do, [if there is
to be any possibility] to correct a mistake, is to acknowledge that a mistake is present.
