i totally agree,

a lot of the elderly seem to think its all about them.
they care not a jot if young peoples lives are demolished.
as long as THEY are given the priority.
disgraceful

The funny thing is, I wonder what the average 85-90 year old would say if you told them they'd cause inter-generational debt and hardship for their children and grandchildren to reduce their odds of dying in the next few years by 25% ?

the level of stupidity from you is astonishing.

the level of selfishness from the likes of you is astonishing

from the abc website

Experts are warning suicide rates will continue to rise due to the economic and social impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

Preliminary modelling by the Brain and Mind Centre suggests the COVID-19 crisis could cause up to 750 extra suicides a year, if the unemployment rate was around 11 per cent.

But in a worst case scenario, where unemployment were to peak at about 16 per cent, that could double to an additional 1500 additional deaths a year.

Mental health support services have also been inundated.

Calls to Lifeline are up by 25 per cent on last year, while Beyond Blue has seen a 40 per cent leap in calls since before the pandemic.

coulda woulda shoulds.... it's purely guesswork on their part based on wishful thinking and unicorn farts. But lets play along for arguments sake

Sweden with half our population has 3200 death so far ... double that to match our population and thats 6400 deaths
you want to kill 6400 people, to possibly save a max of 700? Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

It's an interesting paradox.

In a war it's the young, fit and strong with the most years of life remaining who go out and fight to save the old, weak and frail.

If we approached this as a war it would be the opposite and the front line would be fatties who are at most risk of Covid.

Hence why you people are going down. I hear the Eastern Suburbs in the epicentre.

Had a good run of no new cases in Western Australia until this just happened:

A worker at Perth’s Pan Pacific Hotel diagnosed with coronavirus

https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/wa/a-worker-at-perths-pan-pacific-hotel-diagnos...

Quote:
A 47-year-old man working at the Pan Pacific Hotel, where returned travellers are being kept in mandatory quarantine, has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Premier Mark McGowan said the man had been a close contact of someone self-isolating at the hotel.

Quote:
“That is why you can’t be too careful about this thing.” -Premier Mark McGowan

Not careful enough, it would seem.

Hardly any point having border closures when "exemptions" are allowed.

Why are these returning travellers not being quarantined BEFORE they leave for the return trip to Australia?

And, why was this hotel worker allowed to be in 'close contact' with someone who is supposed to be in quarantine?
