fearful presence?

I've never been scared of police, even in the old days when driving drunk

But I’m astonished at the amount of fines issued!

that says more about the number of people not listening or following the rules. More often than not, the cops are giving warnings and moving people on with no fines. It's only when they think you're deliberately ignoring the rules that they fine you. Of course, there will be some cops who go to far, just as there will be those that don't go far enough, all in all, i think they're doing a pretty good job

That’s the bottom line, some are fair, and some like the feeling of power.
Good cops vs bad cops.

then you get rid of the bad cops,......... not change the rules

Ooh okaaay, I will remember to do that 🤗

A lot of the fines were later refunded or withdrawn because they were, quite frankly, stupid. And they are just the glaringly obvious ones. We are seeing all sorts of issues caused by handing the police unchecked authority to be dicks.

The Victoria police have lost a lot of good will with the public.

An old man was out alone - legally walking for exercise for 20 minutes and got tired so sat
on a park bench for 2 minutes and was fined $1652.

Someone was legally exercising alone on a paddle board
at a beach & got fined $1650.

A man was fined $1650 for being alone visiting the grave of his wife.

I'm hearing case after case on 3AW radio and
so many people are very angry about it because they
were maintaining social distance laws.

At the same time an interstate aeroplane flight showed that a plane was
packed with people sitting side by side and that was OK.
Go figure?

Some of the fines were later withdrawn.

You give the police an inch and they take a mile.

Heartbroken daughter is left 'inconsolable' as ARMED POLICE storm her father's funeral to enforce ten-person limit

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8215625/Police-interrupt-womans-fathers-funeral-enforce-social-distancing-rules.html?fbclid=IwAR2lCWfsFQF9XmgZZaG4vAfeAwxwSPgLfGt8c2SyJ0SP-YQth-D-HP06Ews#article-8215625

A woman was left 'inconsolable' after armed police officers interrupted her father's funeral to enforce a 10-person attendance limit imposed as part of coronavirus social distancing rules.

Helen Kolovos' funeral for her father in Victoria on Saturday was disrupted by two officers who walked into the church as his coffin was being carried out near the end of the service.

Ms Kolovos said the officers started counting the number of people in attendance.

The federal government imposed a limit of 10 people at funerals last month in a bid to slow the spread of COVID-19, which has killed 61 Australians and infected more than 6,300.

Ms Kolovos said they had complied with the ten-person limit, and family members even sat in separate pews despite coming from the same household.

Just invite a hairdresser to your funeral - problem solved.

Although, the funeral will be limited to 30 minutes.

they were refunded? so they weren't unchecked after all, you made it up?

It's a rapidly changing situation. Mistakes will be made From all sides. Crying that your a victim and should do away with fines altogether won't help anyone, it'll just endanger innocent people

Qantas has slashed flights between the two cities from 36 per week to just 14

They are still getting away with the excesses they are getting away with. As I just explained. It was only the "too stupid to sweep under the rug" ones that got refunded.

And for every fine that is withdrawn because of being stupid ....... there are twice or more issued that are warranted.

What sort of firearm was used when the passengers were forced onto the plane at gunpoint?

I'm curious.

Local Police = not bad.
Highway Patrol = revenue rakers.

Cops
NSW = keep the Rich honest, but turn a blind eye to the Street level poor, hence a lot of 'riots' in Sydney.
VIC = keep the poor honest, but turn a blind eye to the Rich like Skase, Packers, Bond, Grollo Bros, Rivken, etc.

SA = They sleep with your girlfriend, wife, mother, etc.
QLD = They take bribes - just ask Fitzgerald.

WA = Corrupt from top to bottom
NT = The shoot on site

Tas = the Worse Cops of all, because they make you marry into their 6 fingered Family.
ACT = Fake Cops handing out Fake Fines to Politicians.

What's wrong with the police having revenue?

Would you rather they were broke?

I'm curious.
