Why do I pay taxes?
Feb 20th, 2020 at 4:27am

The whole premise of paying taxes is supposedly so that the grubberment can
1 build infrastructure
2 prevent other nations from invading us
3 assist citizens in time of need
4 provide a police force to protect us.

But our grubberment have failed in all of these requirements.
Infrastructure is ridiculously behind the growing population.
We need DESPERATLY  dams, public transport, power , schools and hospitals.

As for preventing other nations from invading us.
It's really a bit of a joke.
They have cut funding to the bone, our weaponry is pathetic and as we no longer build our own vehicles and rely on other countries for fuel, we are screwed anyway.
Then the morons take away guns from law abiding citizens who could and do fight in an invasion.

As for assisting people in times of need.
Our grubberment woukd rather waste billions on looking after other countries before our own.
And they waste money at home on pointless exercises in "bridging gaps" that are only tgere because one group are too damn lazy to get off their arses and work.

Finally, our police force.
Per capita, our grubberment have reduced our police force to a fraction of what is needed.
Most of them are nothing more than revenue collectors.
The close out of minor crimes barely reach 10%, meaning that 90% of crime goes unpunished.
The close out for assault and murder isn't all that much better.
But, on the other hand, fine collection is up around the 95% mark.
It's easy to see the grubberments agenda, isn't it?

Our senior public servants are overpaid and overcompensated.
Our politicians have their noses so deeply buried that they only worry about themselves.
Criminals run riot, especially if they are protected species DARKIES or immigrants.
Meanwhile you and I pay some of the highest taxes in the world when you take grab, snatch and take into account.

We are being raped by our grubberment, criminals, multinationals and other nations.

Again I ask, why are we paying taxes.
We would be little worse off without these parasites at all.

I note that the submarines (French Mk I) are now costing $80Bn instead of $50Bn, and the French are saying that Australian companies can't build them properly...

Those Frogs must really need $80Bn.....

Where is our free trade reciprocal contract to extract $80Bn from France?  Level playing field, innit?  Our government sells out and theirs takes as much as it can get ......   Cool

The government creates money by spending.

The government removes money by taxing. Taxes control inflation.

We don't run an MMT model here. Liquidity is controlled via financial securities.

You are so right - but where is the principle in having any if they don't apply across the board?

WHY are we spending $80m offshore with no chance of any reciprocal trade coming in?

You want to trust North African Muslims working in French shipyards to build YOUR boat?

There is a reciprocal arrangement. We give them money and they give us boats.

Actually the govt could build very little hugely expensive infrastructure with the modest income from taxes.

Govt BORROWS money internationally to pay for infrastructure which is of lasting benefit to Australia.

The Govt is broke.
They borrow money to pay for
old age pensions and social security.

And we also pay for:
- negative gearing.
- franking dividends
- tax relief for the big companies
- pensions and part pensions for righties.
- and royal commissions into bush fire to name a few to start.

You left out
Huge salaries to worthless public servants.
Huge pensions to ex public servants
Huge amounts of money to worthless dead beat countries that hate us.
Huge amounts of money to the United (muzzo) nations.
Huge amounts of money to a dying primitive culture.

We could cut back all this waste and use the cash to fund worthwhile expenditure.
