The NSW Rural Fire Service firefighter who gave Prime Minister Scott Morrison a piece of his mind during the bushfire crisis has said he was sacked after he unloaded on television.

Appearing on The Project with his wife Tanya on Sunday night, Paul Parker told about the aftermath to his moment that went viral during Australia’s horror bushfire season.

“The message I got was about time you brought the truck back because we were about to send the police to go look for you,” he told The Project.

“And then there were further comments with gestures and arm movements saying that I’m finished. It’s all over.

the other side of the coin is.....

the RFS  were concerned for his wellbeing  he was obviously very stressed and pushed to the limits.. his own home was burnt   at the same time as he was fighting to save others......I am thinking there is a bit more to this story....all sad.

wasnt he a volunteer?...let go! may be a better phrase.....

Shane Fitzsimmons   doesnt seem the sort of guy that would stand for this....

but lets be honest many of these firefighters would have been affected by the job they did.....it was a WAR ZONE for many weeks.....god bless them all

for all we know there will be many more showing signs of PTSD down the track...
