I always thought the no means no campaign should be redirected to teach women to say no when they mean no and yes when they mean yes.
And say "never" when they mean "never."
Here couple of personal experiences that I find interesting.
In my early 20s backpacking around S/E Asia and was on Phi Phi Island for 3 weeks which should actually be called 'root island' as everyone was hooking up every night.
1: I was drinking with a German lass at a beach bar. We were getting on really well, great chat but I kind of thought I was going home alone that night. At at closing time she said, so now the bar is closed, we go back to my bungalow and fkkk Ja? I said, Mmm Ja das ist gut.
In the morning she was a bit regretful and said she had a steady boyfriend, I've never done this, a bit much to drink, blah blah blah.
No blame, but we hung out platonically for a few days and all was good.
2: Same beach bar, an Essex girl, sexy as hell and her accent was driving me nuts, she was playing the game where every word out of her mouth was no but every bit of body language was yes. We ended up on the beach and after a few kisses the conversation was like, I'll never sleep with some random on a beach because (*********) I'm not that kind of girl (*********).
The part in brackets were unintelligible mumbles because she'd put something in her mouth.
We ended up spending 3 or 4 wonderful days together.
Complex issue, this.
