Australia had founding fathers as well.  Bet you can't name them.  Roll Eyes

Long afterwards and not connected to the original event...  It is NSW's special day, leave it to them.

Nope. It was a declaration of Federation of states to form a Commonwealth.

But perhaps you have a link showing Australia was founded in 1901? Wink

The founding of Australia as a nation occurred on 1 January 1901.  Before that, it was six individual colonies.    Roll Eyes

26th January adopted by common consent of all relevant parties...

When. Graps?  It was only adopted as a national holiday in 1988...  Roll Eyes

Australia didn't have founding fathers. We had a meeting of politicians. Henry Parkes was a federalist. He has been called the ""Founding Father of Federation". Which of course is a beast of a different colour than the Founding Father of Australia Wink.

What has it being a holiday to do with it?  It was always Australia Day long before 1988...

So are you saying the Indigenous Discontent is all about it being a public holiday in conflict with their multiple public holidays, and not about any genuine grievance that can be rectified easily?

Have they worked out yet exactly what it is they want.. or are they content to just keep on being 'radicalised' for the fun of it.. and the benefits?

Anyone got a list yet of what Aboriginals want in order to settle their grievances?

And as for Ayers Rock - they didn't get it as a 'sacred site' - it was closed of to ALL climbing so as to not deface a national icon, and the surrounding land was given to the local  .. a lazy government's way of not being responsible for all the troubles this will cause - including the loss of incomes for those locals, and their inevitable descent into poverty and despair....

And you all thought government were just stupid.... anyone enjoying their guided garden tour and bush yarns at the pub at Ayers Rock Campground out or horizon sight of Ayers Rock - the whole reason for anyone to go there at all???

Pascoe was on the Sunrise Ceremony program.
He wasn't being blasted by Aboriginals for looking white.
He had some extracts of evidence by Australian explorers shown and the reality of their experiences.

Nice to see the photos, authentic sketches and artworks showing the truth beyond all the lies of Whitey propaganda.

Nice to see the kids of today seeing the truth.

You managed to name one, Lee, well done.  How about the others?

In case you weren't aware, federation is how Australia as a nation came about.  Roll Eyes

Hardly relevant - every nation has a national day... love it or leave it..

It was still the arrival of the First Fleet... always recognised in some way, and only formalised in 1988...

Good God ....... of course he wasn't blasted by the Aborigines for being 'too white' - he was supporting the myth of a super civilisation long established... why would they bite him - leave that to the tribal elders who've done so...

I'm so glad I don't watch that kind of pulp faction show... and I'm sure all pictures etc - they had photos back then? - could be argued many ways, and not just blithely accepted as an over-reaching reality.

Where's the compelling ground, Pascoe?  Where is the DNA test - we could get it from your crocodile tears spilt over being criticised... while dopey governments are going to spoon feed your version of history to hapless and gullible school kids - give me a child by the age of five and he is mine forever!

We need to resolve many issues in this nation - including teaching - and Pascoe's fantasies are at the bottom of the list, and are taking up too much valuable time and energy.

Nah then - all this tripe out of the way - where is the list that will satisfy Indigenes and shut them up, leave the rest of us to get on with making a decent life without having to hand it all over for no reason.

Take it up with whoever stole your anything back then - he's left the building...

"Bruce Pascoe has committed no offence" - no - he just hasn't been fully investigated yet... and is not likely to be given the political climate and the government direct control over the AFP... further proof there, people.... on the back of the ABC and journo Invasions™...

That poolitical climate says it would be a bad move to criticise anyone supporting the Aboriginals, regardless of reality and facts.

Now what?  We await the next FedElect, and are faced with the utter stupidity of Labor giving away everything demanded plus and then inciting further demands endless - or we keep the current lot of mishaps?  What a choice!

No wonder I don't vote Labor, LNP or Greens... looks like I never will, either...

Every Aboriginal that is not full-blood would not exist to whine if not for their "other" DNA. The only reason they exist is because the "other" DNA, where ever it came from, was gifted to them.

Question for the class:
Is the above true or false?

The shot across Pascoe's bow was that he was just another whitey exploiting the poor indigene. This time by exploiting Aboriginal history for profit. The solution. Make a wish and become an Aborigine. Too easy!
