thats wrong the bush is what this country is all about..the only thing about bush fires today as against the past is... they impact on humans more and more because of stoooopid humans not because the bush is spreading...
we cant avoid fire its part of our culture the bush relies on it to regenerate itself..... for goodness sakes....most fires could be left to die all by themselves... if it wasnt for the human factor......
we could in fact spend more time helping the animals....who usually have more sense and get out before the fires take hold.......
this year was a bad year all round....no one was prepared for what happened.....even though scomo was expected to be prepared.....he wasnt.. I guess its the human coming out in him....look at the holiday makers who went in knowing the dangers.. but still they went there..
Maybe JaSin made that up … what Scomo's supposed to have said. Not even Scomo is that dumb

New.com.au I looked and read that link, how coincidental with the proposed train line! And what way to rid of people and their properties without having to buy them out etc (a bit like the movie The Castle).
I showed the link to my hubby, first I showed him about the tree burnt from within, he said, that could be a tree that lightening hit.
I told him about the exploding trees people had been reporting, and he says, that could be the moisture in the trees. (I'm thinking, wasn't it dry? but then I recall how the environmentalists were surprised the rain forest caught alight etc).
Then I showed him the photographed lazer beams, he just said with a puzzled look "hmmmm…that's interesting."
Then, when I showed him the graph of where the fires where and the proposed train line, his eyes lit up and his reaction was that we don't know what hell they (government, officials, whomever etc) are doing behind our backs for their purpose, all that dirty work etc.
That rattled him.
So it's an interesting link, and thanks for posting it. Worthy of discussion.
