Every party and candidate knows what the rules of elections are in each country and each electorate and so the various candidates mount a campaign to win the election according to the rules, NOT merely the popular vote if that is not the decider.

The election is decided by voting - the 'ballot box".

She thought she was home and hosed in Massachusetts and did not bother to campaign there. This is an example of wilful blindness

And conducted his campaign with surgical precision

This alone proves the Donald is far from the babbling buffoon

He strategically paid attention to where he needed to campaign
And here emerged glorious and holding the trophy and the keys to the oval office at the end

A story worth studying for at least 10 years
