Mentally ill people and anyone on drugs shouldn't have access to firearms - but they do.

It's something to do with privacy between a doctor
and their patient.
The state has no right to know that a person is on
heavy drugs for mental illness - go figure?

If lawmakers wanted to make a difference, they would go to the laws already on the books rather than going after Law Abiding Gun Owners. Change the law protecting doctors who, rather than stigmatizing their patients, they don't report their patients that have mental illnesses that are potentially dangerous to society.

To hell with Political Correctness.

Force these doctors to report their patients who have these potentially violent illnesses, or are taking drugs that have been proven to exacerbate certain conditions, so when background checks are made, red flags keep these people from legally getting access to firearms.

In America - privacy is more important than the protection of members
of the public from psycho killers.

Well then it's a good thing that these Psycho Killers kill so few....

Still, the law should mandate that doctors have to report them to the FBI, so they can be included in the database.

Proven?

I know that's the line the NRA is pushing, but is it backed up by any sort of evidence?
