I remember roach claiming, as Smeagol Baggins said in the Ice Age Crap thread, that he singlehandedly ran the worlds biggest airline! It was in DebateRelate and he may have even said it here.

I guess he was in charge of buying the toilet paper or something.

Booby is being a very bad Mod, letting those who claim to believe the Ice Age nonsense abuse others.

Come on, FD, way time to put aside the MRB elections and appoint some decent MRB Mods!

Look at Booby’s last Dubyne post.

Winds change because the magnetosphere weakens? Hmmm, nitrogen and oxygen are magnetic? Or is Dubyne talking bullshit? Of course he is talking bullshit, he rarely talks anything else (sometimes talks utter nonsense, about weird stuff when no cold weather is about.)

Wind blow from areas of high pressure and into areas of low pressure.

There is an early typhoon? (NEVER take anything Dubyne says at face value.) But if we have an early typhoon then that is not a sign of an ice age, is it? Warm seas are what starts and nurtures big cyclones (=typhoons =hurricanes = tropical cyclones) so an early typhoon indicates the NH seas are bloody warm!

Nobody ever said that Dubyne has a clue about weather or climate! Grin

Re icebergs, a quick google doesn’t find any huge number of icebergs yet. Icebergs that flow past (or beach on) Newfoundland and Nova Scotia are calved from Greenland glaciers. I guess the snake oil salesman is trying to set the scene for the huge number of icebergs calved from Greenland glaciers.

This shows smarts and prescience that I know Dubyne doesn’t have, evidence that he gets fed lines from the likes of Heartland Institute. Most of his crap is simple enough: set up a heap of Google alerts “cold” “snow” “hail” etc etc, pinch some news footage, talk some crap about the event and, voila, another idiotic video is made.

But trying to show that icebergs will be really heavy this year (all that warm Arctic weather) and giving an explanation not involving a warm Arctic that no HS science student would accept, that is not Dubyne, that is someone MUCH smarter than Dubyne.

So, Dubyne is following a script given him by someone higher up the denier foodchain and rather smarter than Dubyne. Interesting!

Trouble is, Dubyne is a snake oil salesman, cherry picking cold snaps, exaggerating their severity and extent and also lies quite a lot. Actual science never appears so why a GSM should happen now is never stated.

The fact that a GSM would give a transient 0.3°C cooling has been explained in detail in comments. The snake oil salesman takes no notice, of course: a snake oil salesman needs snake oil to sell—there is a never ending supply of dupes like Booby as long as the snake oil supply is adequate.

I bet David Dubyne is not his name and when the ice age fails to appear he will slip away with the money he earned from his dupes and David Dubyne will be no more.

Gotta love the chart of precipitation roach put up.

You can see the five year drought CA went through. Why did that drought happen? The Jet Stream has become wavy and the waves, the loops and ridges, move very slowly: they influence weather in locations for years at a time.

WHY is the Jet Stream weak, wavy and slow moving? AGW and the Arctic Amplification that sees the Arctic warming two, three times as fast as lower latitudes.

So roach showed that AGW is operating, not what he really wanted to show, I suppose. Dumb, uneducated people do things like that, think they are proving one thing when they are really proving the opposite Grin

Snow levels are a measure of precipitation they aren't a measure of temperature.
