Sea ice extent in the Bering Sea remains at record low levels for this time of year. Total ice extent over the Arctic Ocean also remains low and consists of a record-high amount of first-year ice. This means the ice cover is unusually thin and large areas are susceptible to melting out in this coming summer.

Yup, first year ice is easily broken up by waves, easily melted.

Thanks for the laugh, Lees. Seismology can’t show WARM water, oh dear!  Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin The desperation of Lees!

Thanks for the laugh and non-rebuttal.

so you have a water entrance, no flow, in contact with the ice, and you want to call it WARM water. Not natural temperature water bu WARM water. How warm? Salt water freezes below 0C, have a bath in that and tell me it is WARM. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Two days to think of an answer; you're slipping. Wink

Sorry, but you are very successfully painting yourself as an idiot.

I urge you again to think.

Or keep amusing me, either way works for me.

Whether you like the phrase or not, more rain-bombs — or extreme heavy rainfall events far outside the range of usual weather norms — keep falling. And most recently the all-time record for the most rain to fall within a 24 hour period was shattered on April 14-15 as nearly 50 inches inundated Kauai, Hawaii. In a separate instance half a world away, late April and early May has seen extreme drought giving way to extreme flooding over parts of the Middle East. Both increasingly extreme drought events and much heavier than usual precipitation events are signals of human-caused climate change. And, lately, these signals have been proliferating.

Strange that the articles keep saying things like "Kauai MAY  (COULD) have broken the US rain record."

Give you a hint.

In one of his lying videos Dubyne claimed that a fox fell through thin ice on the Danube and “was flash frozen!” Can you see why that was a clear and obvious lie? Can you then, in a Herculean feat of mental blockage clearing see why you are so amusing in your twaddle about “can seismology detect warm water?”

Let's back up.

YOU were the one talking about WARM CURRENTS. Current as in water flow.

YOU were the one started talking about detecting undercuts in the ice.

When questioned about the paper I asked if it was Alley et al. You didn't respond directly, but mentioned seismology.

So from you we have warm currents, undercutting of the ice, and seismology.

I then responded that As Far As I Knew (AFAIK) seismology didn't detect warm water.

You still haven't responded to that; but keep obfuscating.

So seeing as it is you brought up the "Warm Current", "undercutting of the ice" and "seismology", perhaps you should explain yourself.

Of course we both know that is unlikely to happen. Wink

yes. I knew lee wrote on May 4th, 2018 at 4:51pm:

Your so called relationship to the truth is that there is no relationship.

Just a poor, sad, individual who makes misstatements of truth. There is another word for that; it starts with L. And it is a word you bandy about a lot about other people; but get your knickers in a twist when applied to yourself.

A fox fell through thin ice into the Danube and was flash frozen.

Some hundreds of brain damaged idiots believed that.

What do you think, Lees, assuming you actually think?

I think not. Although I have seen a dead fox "frozen" in mid run killed by a bushfire.

"This poor fox is one of the victims of extreme weather conditions that are gripping vast parts of Germany and Europe. "

Now whether it was subsequently frozen, flash frozen or snap frozen; I really don't know. Wink
