Seismology is used to find out the thickness and structure of a big glacier.

Instead of forgiving, Booby, how about apologising for letting roach’s abuse “lie” stand?

Yes. And there is nothing I can find in the reports of "Totten glacier has been undercut for kilometers by warm currents."

AFAIK seismology can't detect warm currents.

Methinks you are getting your tales twisted. Another misstatement of truth.

Seismology can detect water below the ice.

Can it detect WARM water under ice? Wink

Show me the magical report that says seismology has found "Totten glacier has been undercut for kilometers by warm currents."

If there is water under the glacier to miles inland what conclusion can you make about that water? Try thinking, Lees.

All that WARM water. And where did it come from? Suddenly it has morphed to just water under the ice.

Now that would probably cool/cold water under the ice because any heat would be lost, probably miles downstream. Also a CURRENT suggest water flow. In a deadend glacial erosion there won't be any flow.

Now what can cause water to form under the ice? Pressure will do it every time. And glaciers are all about downward pressure.

Time for you to rethink.

I have said time and time again AGW causes more evaporation and the very air can hold 8% more moisture than it could in the mid–late nineteenth century and that this causes bigger precipitation events.

Look at this bit of precipitation, Phoenix, Arizona:

Makes me laugh when the ice age fraudsters talk about “huge rain/hail/snow at [location”] because they are illustrating AGW!

Interesting. But I am not sure how satellites do temperature 2metres above the ground. And re-analysis? Is that going to test the data in remote areas?

But then is is coming on to summer; you would expect some warming. Wink

Quote:
Whether you like the phrase or not, more rain-bombs — or extreme heavy rainfall events far outside the range of usual weather norms — keep falling. And most recently the all-time record for the most rain to fall within a 24 hour period was shattered on April 14-15 as nearly 50 inches inundated Kauai, Hawaii. In a separate instance half a world away, late April and early May has seen extreme drought giving way to extreme flooding over parts of the Middle East. Both increasingly extreme drought events and much heavier than usual precipitation events are signals of human-caused climate change. And, lately, these signals have been proliferating.

Yeah, you expect temperatures to warm in spring and not have “Arctic temperatures recovering” coming out of winter. That dopy snake oil seller Dubyne forgot he told his dupes, like Booby here, that the Arctic hadn’t warmed   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

But warm air is going to push into the Arctic once again, warming it well over usual temperatures for the time of year.

Water that can cut away at ice can be taken to be warm. Where does the warm water come from? The oceans, Pacific, Indian, South Atlantic. AGW warms these oceans and pulses of warm water get sent down to Antarctica. If you had watched the simulation of ocean currents you would have seen that.

Thanks for the laugh, Lees. Seismology can’t show WARM water, oh dear!  Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin The desperation of Lees!
