It isn't all that uncommon for a couple of males to feel "close" to each other. Especially as they get older.

It has nothing to do with "sex" it is all about being "close" and feeling the "vibes" and having a little spat, every so often ...

I can see Aussie and Monk getting married ... eventually. Like these dear old blokes.
