I admire him for his work in the Howard government, but he was treacherous and voted against Abbott.

I just hope that he stops the subdivision of land around Dural, Galston, Arcadia and Berowra.

Didn't we hear about that for years and years and years ????

Didn't Abbott trump that easily with his 6 lies in 25 words just before the following election.

Wasn't the fixed carbon price easily the best option anyway ????

Didn't John Howard promise that there would never ever be a GST under any government that he led ????

no more so than lefties whines about Abbott....

yes and guess who took the GST to an election''
and guess who got elected..

and guess who dropped talking about removing the GST.... Angry Angry Angry Angry

the gst is the best thing since sliced bread....the chaos of what we had before  was pathetic...

and here you are still whining about the GST...hilarious...how can you whine about NO CARBON TAX ... and the carbon tax was the NAIL IN THE COFFIN OF THE MINING INDUSTRY...

but dont let that get in the way of BAD DEBT.

yes and guess who took the GST to an election''

Absolutely irrelevant, That was after he had promised to never ever do that. That is just consummating his lie.

John & dna would prefer we had a situation like Europe.
Don't worry guys, Labor might win and they can break their promise on border security so that you can fill the place with all the country-shoppers you want.

Wouldn't be the first time

The sad thing is though that the Liberals will probably do that one day, given how left they have gone. The Liberals are far more left-wing than the Labor party used to be. Both major parties are now solidly centre-left.

Nobody can stop that except in the short term. It's the inexorable march of time.

Ruddock was one hell of a pollie but looking at him on the hustings, I hope he has the energy to climb the stairs to work

Poor bugger looked like the ghost of Christmas last

Anyhow an old Ruddock is preferable to most of the crud we have going around in local politics these days

The Liberals justifyably called their own leader a Lying rodent and the Following Liberal PM holds the record for lies in one statement.

Tony Abbott promised no cuts to education, health, or the ABC and SBS, and no changes to pensions or the GST, yes that is correct in the lead up to an election Tony managed 6 lies in about 25 words.

That was before he got to see the books and how badly the incompetent Wayne Swan had cooked them. He (Abbott) has said that had he known the true state of the country's finances, he wouldn't have made the promises he did.

what a load of rubbish. He had all the figures well in advance of making any dumb promises. only was/is an idiot who doesn't know when to shut up.

a lot like the maggots in my area. Every single councillor in my area at the least council elections promised to stop efforts (by Jery Harvey and Singleton) to fill Black Swan Lake and use it for a car park for their magic millions. A little over a year later and every single one of the maggots voted in favour of it.

You mean like this one ??

Quote:
Victorian Police had been investigating the matter but confirmed on Thursday that they will not be proceeding with criminal charges.

At a press conference the Labor leader addressed the allegation, which was published on his female accuser's Facebook page several months ago.

"Late last year I learned that a claim had been made about me, going back to when I was 19," Mr Shorten said.

"I will not go into the details, except to say that the allegation was untrue and abhorrent.

"The allegation was made by someone that I knew briefly at that time. There is absolutely no basis to the claim."

Mr Shorten said he cooperated with a police investigation "to clear my name".

"The police have now concluded the investigation. The decision speaks for itself. It is over," he said.
