Now, that is completely ignorant on FD's part. If he knew anything about the Congo, he'd know that Leopold II used it as his personal property to get exorbitantly rich from it, without a care in the word for the natives.

Leopold of course sold it as a humanitarian expedition, but that wasn't his intention.
