You were wrong. Pre that election, Super Nova was the Big Kahuna. That election was to replace him.

He was elected (rigged) as Big Kahuna in September last year, and was to hold the position for 12 months, as per the Constitution. He replaced Skippeeee in the September, 2016 election.....skippeeee did not contest......but for some corrupt reason, for all that time since September, 2016, skippeeee still held all the buttons only Big Kahuna is entitled to.

Just prior to the recent June election, SN announced he had to cease posting so often both at the sewer and even here, for security reasons arising out of his job in the Land of Arabs. He resigned.

So, the election which was not due until September 2017 was called early.

That was the election you voted in. It was for the Big Kahuna job......not a mere Mod job.
