But we have put 46% more CO2 into the atmospere.

Satellite spectrometry shows CO2, methane etc etc prevent a lot of IR from escaping into space, warming the globe.

Even as much as 450ppm CO2 is going to cause catastrophic heating: extreme weather events common, sea level rise fast and high enough to make many coastal towns uninhabitable. Wildfires are already bigger than they used to be and wildfire seasons everywhere have lengthened substantially.

You want more and more of that? I don’t! Not for personal reasons, I should be able to live out my life comfortably but for my nieces and their kids, especially the kids.

Read up about the Thwaites glacier!

And......so what, who said 280ppm was were CO2 has to remain....???

We have had 7000ppm and life flourished, plat eaters became numerous and so did meat eaters.

BTW like my previous post said most of the increase in CO2 is because of natural CO2 emissions not mans.

We already know the greenhouse gases and what they do that's why they are named greenhouse gases.

BTW water vapour is responsible for 95% of the greenhouse effect here on Earth..... Tongue

Natural phenomenon that have always existed, just the oligarchies  media outlet freaking out the world.

It's only natural that the world will heat up after the mini ice age and that natural CO2 should increase because of the heat

Ask yourself why did the IPCC hide the MWP and MIA.

Yes yes yes we have had more CO2 in the past! I know that! BUT the sun was MUCH less bright then 500m and more years ago!

No, wildfires are more deadly and the season they can occur in has gotten longer and longer.

You are wrong about all this, Ajax, really you are.

With the sun as bright as it is today even 450ppm CO2 (plus methane and nitrous oxide) will be very bad.

Look dude, alarmists and sceptics both agree that if CO2 doubles we might see and increase in temperature of about 1°C and that's a maybe.

Where are you getting all these doomsday prophecies from....??

No Ajax, we have already had more than 1°C warming with just the 46% extra CO2.

All the sources you turn to are wrong, wrong wrong!

CO2 IS warming the globe. You want several severe heat events, even more and bigger bushfires? Well, do you?

Don’t be silly Ajax, the globe is warming and if no more CO2 was emitted from now the globe would continue heating.

When the sun enters a really active state temperatures will JUMP!

Stop fibbing JV, the Earth has warmed about 0.85°C since about 1880, this is natural since we are coming out of the Mini Ice Age (MIA)

This warming has caused the natural reservoirs of CO2 to vent more CO2 into our atmosphere.

The natural sources far exceed the manmade sources.

Quote:
Compared to natural CO2 emissions mans emissions of CO2 are just too small to register.

Notice the sharp rise in fossil fuel CO2 emissions after 2000.

After 2000 fossil fuel emissions were 3 times the amount of fossil fuel emissions in the prior decade to 2000, that is 3 times as much fossil fuel emission went into our atmosphere after 2000 than the decade before 2000.

But the average yearly increase after 2000 just like the decade prior to 2000, average increase in CO2 remains more or less steady at 2.1ppm per year.

Fossil fuel CO2 emissions at 2.3% of the total CO2 natural emissions are insignificant and get lost in the noise.

That's why the average yearly increase of CO2 has remained steady at 2.1ppm per year even though fossil fuel emissions have shot through the roof.

Again your argument is shot down.

Yes fossil fuels emissions contribute but the contribution is small at 2.3% of the total amount of natural CO2 that is emitted.

That figure is wrong. temp has increased by 0.8°C just from the 1920s!

You sources are very very wrong Ajax.

You need to face up to some very unpleasant facts and their consequences.

Or are you going to wait until the 90Km wide Thwaites glacier fails and we get a 1m rise in sea levels? Other glaciers next to Thwaites making another 90Km frontage or thereabouts.

Hope your house isn’t too close to the beach  Wink

Warming continued in 2016, setting a new temperature record of approximately 1.1 °C above the pre-industrial period, and 0.06 °C above the previous highest value set in 2015. Carbon dioxide (CO2) reached new highs at 400.0 ± 0.1 ppm in the atmosphere at the end of 2015. Global sea-ice extent dropped more than 4 million km2 below average – an unprecedented anomaly – in November. Global sea levels rose strongly during the 2015/2016 El Niño, with the early 2016 values making new records.

There you go. THIS is what happens if we just kept on going as normal.

More extreme heat events

More and bigger wild fires

More flooding rains

More sea level rise and consequently worse floods when storm surges hit land.

We can fix it, should have started 30 years ago but we can, just fix this.

Yet you have been told the temperature reconstructions, including SST's were modelled in 1996, with uncertainties to 2 decimal places. Models are not that accurate. Faster computers just mean you get crap faster than slower computers.

And you continue to ignore the NOAA "data" from 1997. Wink

Why don't tide gauges reflect that?

How is that Natural Variation thingy going Loser Lees?

Any advance in developing that?

You have said that  natural variation IS NOT the null hypothesis.

You have said that AGW IS NOT the null hypothesis.

So what is your third option?

You are just showcasing your Bluff, Bluster and Bullshit.

A null hypothesis is a mathematical expression if a theory is not right.

So AGW is a theory. A theory buttressed by temperatures ever rising and spectroscopic evidence.

Natural Variation is something dreamed up by a desperate Loser Lees who cannot express the NV nonsense in any sensible, testable, falsifiable form

Theory–mechanism–H1–H0–test

Come on Loser Lees, show me what you are made of!

(chicken guts and bullshit it seems, so far.)

Wrong. It is the theory that has to be proved wrong or not necessarily the only correct one. Not about it being "not right".

The big question is, just how many of us are going to tell Monk the same things over and over again before he actually acknowledges that facts?

My guess is he will never become rational or apologise, or accept the facts. Roll Eyes

The null hypothesis is a mathematical relationship that applies if the theory is false.

I have given the H0 for AGW, I am waiting for Loser Lees to man up and provide a H0 for his Natural Variation escape hatch.

Come on Loser Lees, you can do it!

If you can’t then confess you can’t, loser!
