The pppooooiinnnttt is that co2 is driving the climate now. something, which as you are aware, has NEVER happened before.

Another assertion. Please quote the paper that shows it can't be natural variability. I have seen papers that say it can't be therefore...., but no paper that shows it.

Do you even know how science works?

Of course you do...... You're just playing pause button politics to impress daddykins!

Yup, we KNOW the mechanism whereby CO2, CH4 and N2O etc cause AGW. Poopyhead will still raise irrelevant crap so he does not have to admit (to himself) that he knows AGW is warming the world. Not only that, the AGW warming has happened while the sun has been relatively quiet. What will happen when it becomes relatively active, starting in 2019, is not something cowards can bear to think about.

Found that reference to earth being a black body radiator yet? Wink

So black body radiation was too tough for you to understand?

No. I explained that to you. You couldn't grasp the concept that the earth is not a black body. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

"While there's no such thing as a perfect blackbody, most solid objects are sufficiently close to being a blackbody that they can be treated as being 'close enough'. The sun giving off sunlight, for example, can be treated as a perfect blackbody. On the other hand, the Earth needs to have a correction factor. This correction is taken to be a percentage, 70% of a perfect blackbody. This means that the radiation emitted still looks like figure 1, but it is 30% less energy, more or less uniformly across all of the wavelengths. The Earth's atmosphere cannot be treated as a blackbody"

Now if you disagree provide proof of your assertion. Mr Bluff, Bluster and Bullshit.

What does the earth radiate at night? Black body radiation, infrared.

Where does the IR come from? Radiation from the sun mostly that heats atmosphere and surface during the day. This heat is radiated back out to space at night.

The earth is a black body.

I suggest you do some reading up on the subject. Go to your local library and borrow a book on physics.

Then read this article:

http://eesc.columbia.edu/courses/ees/climate/lectures/radiation/

Describes how the earth acts as a blackbody (but imperfectly because of its atmosphere and its spherical shape and elliptic orbit. Then it describes how water vapor and the GHGs cause AGW.

Exactly. Not a black body.

Thank you for agreeing with me. It took a long time but we got there. Wink

If the earth was not a black body we would be hotter than Venus.

However imperfectly in relation to the laws and equations of black body radiation the earth does act like a black body. And a good thing too.

Go and do some reading.

Lees needs to crack open a physics book.

If the earth wasn’t a black body radiator we would be hotter than Venus.

The increasing amount of GHGs in the atmosphere is making the earth a less perfect black body, radiating less heat and so warming the atmosphere which warms the surface and oceans.

Consequences of extreme temperatures that will be more frequent with global warming. Up to 6000 cows in California died from 4 days of 100F temperatures.

This information will 'cheese-off' denialists.

Cow carcasses pile up in California as heat wave causes mass death

Triple-digit temperatures have killed thousands of cattle in California.  KGPE-TV

FRESNO, Calif. -- Central California's largest rendering plant is overwhelmed by the number of cows that died during a June heat wave, so officials are allowing dairy farmers to bury or compost hundreds of carcasses.

The unusual run of heat last month - including nine straight days of triple-digit temperatures -- and a mechanical malfunction at Baker Commodities have contributed to the overload at the plant, the Fresno Bee reported Friday.

Because of the excess carcasses, Baker stopped picking up from farms, leaving farmers without a place to send their dead animals.

Fresno County Agricultural Commissioner Les Wesley told CBS affiliate KGPE-TV an estimated 4,000 to 6,000 livestock died in June due to the heat wave...

And the heat wave is all over the NH pretty much.

Even Sioux Falls, South Dakota is at 26°C right now. Even if the drought means it gets frost at night.
