It is all rather too late to be having this discussion boys and girls.

You are twiddling your fingers on the keyboard and wasting your real time available to you.. on this earth.

Get out in bare feet and feel the earth beneath you. Walk around in bare feet directly pressed to earth, breath into your belly and listen to the wind and the birds.

Understand!!! This too will end.

It’s called nature and it’s beautiful, most people understand it, treasure it and want it to be kept it in its natural state.

Now if you talked about deforestation or pollutants and chemicals that we are pumping out into the atmosphere and our creeks, rivers and water ways, if you’re talking about the islands of plastic in our oceans, most people whether alarmists or sceptics would want action to clean this mess up.

But don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining.

CO2 is not a pollutant, I drink it in my beer, you may drink it in your wine or soft drink, you know those little bubbles, we all exhale it, plants love it, it’s their food, if we ever reach 180ppm in the atmosphere plants would start to die and all that beautiful green scenery would be gone.

Now wake up to yourself and take a good whiff of the CO2 during the morning when you walk bare footed around the place.

Trying to make people around the world pay for the air they breathe through a tax on manmade CO2 is the oligarchies way of financially enslaving us all, the plebs, you, me and everyone once again.

Sorry Ajax but you can see via spectroscopy that CO2 and methane (and soon, nitrous oxide) are blocking IR photons from leaving the atmosphere, heating it.

You can also tell it from the way the Greenland ice sheet is melting into the sea. Antarctica will join Greenland before long (if not already doing so) in raising sea levels.

Then you and Booby and Lees and all the other deniers will be the loudest voice demanding action and asking why action wasn’t taken years ago.

An ETS, fully redistributed like the Gillard ETS, will send a price signal leading to lower carbon energy sources, better energy efficiency etc and so painlessly decarbonising the economy. Now DRASTIC measures will be called for.

Cowards and idiots!

Another hot spot that only exists in computer models...???

This is spectrometry, real time, not a model.

The globe is warming and the time to do something about it is now!

The point of no return according to the algorians  was in 2007 or roundabouts.

So the Earth is warming, it has warmed and cooled many times in our history before the present day.

CO2 had nothing to do with any of the warming in the past, while it may slightly contribute to the warming, CO2 is not the instigator or the driver of any warming or cooling on the Earth.

Don't take my word on this, it's clearly seen in Earth's climate history and can be proven by physics.

The sun is getting brighter. So early in geological time we could have more CO2 in the atmosphere and have life. That is no longer the case.

The world is warming NOW when the sun is quiescent. What will it do when the sun reaches its active state again and we have not reduced the CO2/CH4/N2O etc content of the atmosphere? Will warm rather more quickly than now—and a step up in sea level rise from Greenland has already been detected.

We need to move to an ETS now and decarbonise our economy, so does the rest of the world. We are actually one of the laggards in this respect.

Over 800 million years, Lees.

If you had read that paper I posted you might grasp that  Wink

So does that somehow nullify natural warming? Wink

I suggest you find where I posted long extracts of that paper and read it.

All of which is true, and all of which totally misses the point.
Your aware that co2 has never driven the climate cycle in the past.tick
Your aware that the earth has warmed and cooled in the past. tick

The pppooooiinnnttt is that co2 is driving the climate now. something, which as you are aware, has NEVER happened before. Its a conundrum-scientists should study it and come up with some explanation for why the climate is behaving in this MyStErIoUs way!
