The point is no-one cares about the north-east passage in this context

The point is it has been sailed before current.

And then of course there are unsubstantiated stories of Arctic polar navigation in the 17th century. Who know what route they took?

No-one cares brospeh  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Look at Lees, we see how the Arctic has shrunk and there he is trying to argue that it hasn’t.

The world is warming, Lees, and the warming is anthropogenic, WE caused it.

...

Looking at that, no wonder the NE passage is clear nowadays, all the old ice that was there has gone, pretty much.

Yeah and only clearing since 2009.

"Shunning conventional shipping routes between Asia and Europe in what appears to be the first commercial navigation via the treacherous Arctic sea-lane, Beluga, the shipping company behind the voyage, said in a statement that "we are all very proud" to have "successfully transited the legendary Northeast Passage."  "

"Global Warming Reopens the Northeast Passage
By Adam Smith Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009"

So I guess Time magazine found it significant. Only 130years after the 19th century travel. Wink

This one didn’t spend the winter stuck in ice, unlike the 19thC ones.

This one wasn't powered by sail but bloody big motors so probably moved faster. You do understand the improvements in technology since the 19th century? Wink
