A clear case of Arctic ice thinning.

Still relying on 2016? Wink Why only 2011-2015 as reference? Have they changed their algorithm?

The uncertainties in CryoSat -2

" For the 9 million km2 central Arctic region, over which the large-scale sea ice volume and thickness uncertainty is estimated to be 13.5 %, n∼3, leading to an uncertainty of 23 %. Using this approach and accounting additionally for short-scale correlated errors in freeboard associated with interpolating sea surface heights, we estimate the uncertainty in sea ice thickness increases to 25 % at the 5 km scale of our 28-day NRT grid."

"R. L. Tilling et al.: Near-real-time Arctic sea ice thickness and volume from CryoSat-2"

http://www.the-cryosphere.net/10/2003/2016/tc-10-2003-2016.pdf

Only 25%? That's all right then.

Greenland can't really melt until the sea ice does.

That is how the change in advection happens!

Am I? No, don’t think I am. But you are pooping your pants. Hate to think how you will melt down once the melt starts to really hit its stride in the next couple of months  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Why? It happens every year, at about this time.  You make it sound like it is a new thing. Wink

Greenland icemelt in interdecile range. Melt all along west coast and southern half of east coast.

Look at the icebergs:
http://www.icebergfinder.com/

These were calved by Greenland glaciers.
