Nobody wants to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration

President-elect Donald Trump has always been known for attracting big talent. He only surrounds himself with the best and brightest, which is why his reality show “Celebrity Apprentice” featured big names like Ian Ziering, Adam Carolla, and Snooki. But for some reason, nobody of note wants to perform at the future commander-in-chief’s inauguration in January, even though the committee really really wants them to!
Usually, A-list artists and musicians jump at the chance to be a part of such a historic event, forgoing any of their normal appearance fees. For example, both Beyoncé and Aretha Franklin, who sang at President Obama’s 2012 and 2008 inaugurations, respectively, were reportedly only paid production and travel expenses. But Trump’s team, desperate to book someone like “Justin Timberlake or Bruno Mars,” is offering up large sums of cash moneys. Unfortunately, there are few takers.
“They are willing to pay anything,” a source told TheWrap. “They told me, ‘We’ll pay their fees.’ Most of these artists’ fees are in the six to seven figures.”
“Name your price,” a Trump negotiator reportedly said.
Previously, it had been reported that Vince Neil of Motley Crüe was slated to perform the inauguration (minus the rest of the Crüe) but his invitation was apparently rescinded after Trump won the election. Other reports that Elton John was performing were similarly denied by the singer’s representatives.
“Incorrect,” John’s publicist said. “He will NOT be performing.”
So far, we know more about who won’t be playing at the inauguration than who will be. It’s probably safe to assume Kid Rock and Ted Nugent will be there. If folks are lucky, maybe Trump will get Chachi and Antonio Sabato, Jr., to make another appearance. All he needs now is some corn on the cob and carny rides and Trump will have a A+ county fair on his hands.
