Trump won by divide and conquer
Dec 10th, 2016 at 9:03pm

how does he put it all/everyone back together again? I don't believe he can. It is a dangerous thing to incite hatred, will we see a backlash?

America was severely divided before he came along. He showed how bad it is. Most western governments around the world have been pushing a policy of massive division (multiculturalism) for decades.

Most people ignore what pollies say during the heat of an election and then twisted by a biased media. Why don't you?

Yes leaders should not incite hatred - Obama has been very divisive and most people will be happy after he has gone. You have much to learn.

Trump will be a unifying president. That should make you happy! N'est pas!

How true!
Trump stated that Americans had a right to vet those entering the country and that was spun by the press as him being racist.
Similarly Australia had Pauline Hanson who stood up against multiculturalism and was howled down - actually jailed.

She was jailed for electoral fraud in a case set up and funded by a Tony Abbott slush fund.

She was a threat to the Liberals as her racist red neck vote catching technique was much better then the Liberals of that time. The Libs got rid of her and adopted her policy position.

It was the most vicious dishonest and divisive election campaign ever. All over the country people protested against the result many declaring that he will never be their president. This has never happened before.

The USA has never had a president detested from day one by so many.

Wouldn't you say the US has had a theme of multiculturalism at least for nearly 150 years?

What does 'e pluribus unum' mean to you?

Or "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door"

It could be argued that multiculturalism is as sound a cornerstone of America's political philosophy as its Constiution.

As a Jew, surely you would, more deeply than most, appreciate the 'righteousness' of this... Particularly when thinking of those desperate European Jews in the late 1930's when Roosevelt (to his eternal discredit) turned away from this cornerstone and refused entry to so many of them, ultimately abandoning them to their fate under Hitler.

America was already divided: Trump made wall street and big media the common enemy.

Mining and Banking takes up the lions share of everything and only propaganda could make that seem good.

Left wing identity politics had already divided the nation. Trump played the identity politics game as well and won. He showed he was better at it than the leftards.

So, what are you trying to say?

Trump is no better, no different than those 'leftists' before him?

Identity politics is fine, benign and valid so long as you identify with its proponent?

Or (if you're saying that identity politics is an evil) are you admitting that Trump's identitarian better-handing will further divide the US and the world?

And if, in your opinion, Identity politics is an evil and your admission that Trump was better at deploying this 'evil', doesn't that make him the greater of two evils?
