Bullsh*t. Germany and Japan lost the total war.

But what of the others that we lost in the war?  What of the countless people who will never see their son/ father / mother/ uncle - not even their bodies?  No, there is no winning when it comes to wars.  Rather, just endless cycle of suffering.

I don't believe in capital punishment,  not because of some airy fairy notion of sanctity of life  if someone harmed my family I would end their life with my bare hands. I just don't trust a Govt to hold that power

There are people that deserve to die but when the Govt gets involved you end up with prisoners being killed so their organs can be sold or chest beating state governors executing retards.

The worst of the worst should be warehouses in a 3x3m concrete cell with a bucket and 2500 calories of nutrition.

They didn't die in vain. Unless you think living under the Imperial Japanese or NSDAP is a good thing.

They have no issue killing western children, in fact they have no problem killing Muslim children either.

It's not often I agree with Biggie but this fluffing about is not achieving anything militarily or in the "Hearts & Minds" department.

Either pull out, pay them for their oil & let them do whatever they wish to the poor unfortunates born within their borders, OR bomb the crap out of them, full carpet bombing of whole regions 500K soldiers on the ground going house to house shooting anything that looks the wrong way.

Install an interim government but be prepared to stay in the area for upward of 20 years.

Or invest the billions the above will cost into developing alternate fuels & storage & stop paying & caring about the M.E

The region is so vast, the plains are so remote, that even the greats like Alexander the Great, the holy roman empire x2, and even the ottomans could not have done such.  You reckon USA can do this?  With the debt clock ticking minute by minute, there is just no political drive nor the moral reserve to do all of these things.   To do so, would lead to bankruptcy of US, and possibly Australia as well if we are foolish enough to follow.   So your plan is just a fantasy.

Yet they ALWAYS find the money.

Don't worry I know this plan will never happen, the US & other western governments are happy for the status quo to remain, a scared population is an easily controlled population.

But we do have a possible President Trump in the wings so never say never. Wink

A president Clinton will probably more likely to do that (abit very remote) than president Trump.   For Trump, he will have enough troubles in the congress on home soil, to pass the bill to round up all illegal mexicans sending them back, and the erect a billion dollar wall - and trying to make Mexico pay for it.    This action alone will take up most of his time and energy, and we are not even started on banning all muslim travellers to the US.

So... you are advocating what Dsmith is saying.  That we should carpet bomb the entire area (thats alot of money), sending 500k strong soldier, going door to door to kill anything that behaves negatively...  THAT is going to stop the whole situation from getting worse?   I mean just listen to yourself.   As you said, the Imperial Japanese and NSDAP tried to do this, it did not end well for them.

I suppose human life is worthless unless its yours to give.

Want to see endless suffering, try doing nothing while you enemy is trying to kill you and your family.

War is not for the weak and soft of heart, it is a nasty business; but if you are going to fight it, at least fight to win.

No-one has negotiated with these idiots and they never will, kill them or be killed by them; what is your choice?

Humans had been trying to kill each other for a LONG time.  I do not think it actually changes anything.  If you look back in history, the reasons are the same, its just, different land, different kings, different name of gods.   We are already at war with ISIS, in fact billions of dollars had been spent on it already.  By now, you should realize that this is not a typical 'war' that we can win using force of arm alone.   The definition of insanity is to try the same thing again and again, expecting different results.

That is half correct.  The bit in brackets was never stated.

Countries rightly or wrongly have been piss farting around the edges not fighting a war.

those 100,000 dead civilians in Iraq 90% killed in the sectarian violence that followed the power vacuum.

those 150 new Taliban recruits pushed that way because a drone mistook a wedding for a terrorist get together.

Fight it properly and accept the losses or get the hell out!
