Is it time to bring back capital punishment?
Jul 18th, 2016 at 8:00am

France has been hit twice in 18 months. America has been a target numerous times. We all remember the London bombings. So far we've been lucky not to have the same pain inflicted upon us here in Australia, or at least not on such a large scale (remember Curtis Cheng and the Victorian Police stabbed in Melbourne). It's made me wonder if our penalties for terrorism offences are strong enough to be a sufficient deterrent. It's made me wonder if, perhaps, it's time to resurrect capital punishment for terrorism offences. For example, carrying out a terrorist attack that kills or maims attracts the death sentence. It may just be enough to make would-be terrorists think twice. Thoughts?

Keep wondering because this is the dumbest idea ever to curb terrorism.  How is the threat of death "punishment" for someone prepared to die anyway?

Nope.

There's absolutely no place in civilized society for the state-sanctioned premeditated killing of prisoners.

Moreover, it doesn't deter other criminals.

And, before one of the less intelligent right wing nut jobs out there jumps in and says "it deters the guy that gets executed", I said other criminals.

Capital punishment lowers us to the level of the murderers.

And, just to clarify for the retarded right wing nut jobs once again, opposing capital punishment doesn't mean that I think all murderers should be given short sentences, or paroled early.

No capital punishment ever, for anyone, or any crime.

We're better than that.

It truly is one of the most retarded arguments for capital punishment that I've ever seen.

"To prevent suicide bombers from killing themselves, we'll threaten them with execution".

The only deterrent is the use of 'Total War', but today's faggoty governments want the softly, softly approach which means these attacks will going on indefinitely.

Germany & Japan did not give up because the allies only attacked military targets with precision weapons, no they were on the process of total annihilation, whereby Germany & Japan quickly decided to give it a rest.

Don't kill them in 1s and 2s, kill them in the hundreds of thousands and see if they want to keep going. If they do, try millions.

Or just get use to it, because they are not stopping any time soon.

Are you happy to include children in your "Total War"?

Some "people" in here advocate the killing of all Muslims - every last man, woman and child (because they mistakenly believe that all Muslims are terrorists and all terrorists are Muslims).

Do you support this view?

MEN, WOMEN, CHILDREN & PUPPIES TOO.

War is not the exercise we currently practice, not sure what to call it.But maybe before we go for total annihilation we could sanction Saudi Arabia the place were the MOST RADICAL form of Islam is the state religion (wahhabism).

But funny that, the country with the most radical Islam, practices amputations & public beheadings, routinely suppresses women(not even letting the drive) is the Wests best friend.

All kisses and hand holding, but continue hating the poorest.

Do you think there is a weapon that kills adults and misses children and 'we' are too cheap to use it?

I told you the solution, whether I agree with or not is irrelevant, Im not in charge.

Only when you fight to win, do you actually win, unfortunately there is an abundance of collateral damage.

Anything less will not stop these people; you just need to be happy with and indefinite environment of attacks and capitulation.

NO

David Oldfield wanted to do this in the PHON early years and he pushed this agenda into policy despite a great many members speaking out against it.
It does not deter criminals.
It is open to the killing innocent people.
Whether state sanctioned or committed by an individual, murder is murder.
Oldfield's big argument was that 25% of people wanted it. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

That all muslims are terrorists, or that all terrorists should be killed

No and Yes

None of which had anything to do with my post, it was someone else's  post, you just want to parade that statement by someone else like a prize pig at the Ag Show.
