Human Rights ? I'll bet the old hypocrite doesn't lobby for voluntary voting

If you don't like compulsory voting, you know where the airport is.

The trouble with voluntary voting is that someone (usually conservatives, funnily
enough) will then actively make it difficult or impossible for minorities or dissenters
TO vote at all.

Don't believe me? It's already been happening in the USA for some time now.

Any links with that ?

Sorry I'm not going anywhere

Conversely, if we changed to voluntary voting, you would fly out slave driver?

Laugh away and post some details of these Judges appointed by Labour to act as Royal Commissioners.  I'm not saying it has never happened.  You say it has, so stump up with some proof, melielongtime.

Has Labor ever initiated a Royal Commission? As soon as you answer yes to that you have your answer, you buffoon.

Should be a limit on the number of times they can hold office..... two terms maybe... there's always a need for fresh ideas and fresh blood... look what's become of the two major parties these days.... hidebound and totally out of touch.

Keep 'em lean and keep 'em keen... they're overfed and have no idea after about a month of the good life...... shuffling all those billions around the board makes them lose touch with the simple reality that many shuffle dollars and cents just to stay alive....

There is no room left in this country for the politics of greed, the politics of enforced equalities and exclusions masquerading as inclusions.. for those who missed it,
Australia is on the ropes and no amount of bulldust will hide that stark reality.

We need a real government and we need it now - not just another run of these namby-pamby ideologues out of universities all intent on fattening out of the public paddock.... for life.

Vote 1 - Grappler for President - We ARE The People!

Link.

Just go, Ruddock!

For starters, he has done more for Australia than you and me combined.

He is an honourable man. Not a showman, I grant you, but an honourable man.  Unlike you.

So what?  He goes and gets the usual golden handshake worth hundreds of thousands of dollar.

Why does he not have the 'honour,' morality or common decency to get his hand out of our wallet taking this sinecure as well?

If he wants to work on, great ~ seek re-election!  He'd win easily!  Nah, this is part of Turnbull using our money to get rid of dead wood he does not want in Parliament.  It is a simple as that.

You are an ijit, Arsey.

The bloke has been in parliament for decades. He has represented people and had done more good than you and me combined, twice over.

Your being a grudging, rancorous bastard changes nothing - not his worth nor your lack of worth.

Jesus Sore End, could you get your tongue any further up his arse?

He's a useless old prick who is well past his use-by date.

So, he gets what every other retiring Pollie gets...a generous pension etc package.

Why must he have the extra job paid for by me?  Nah.  Stuff him.  He should just bugger off.   If he is not good enough to stay in Parliament, he ain't good enough for any other similar job.

You sound like you agree he is getting additional because of his longevity.  Am I right?

You couldn't be right except if you didn't try. When you do try to be right, you are always wrong.

Ruddock is an eminent elder statesman with an impeccable record. A principled, steady servant of his electorate and the country. He makes way to others in parliament but he can continue to serve his country effectively as he has done for decades.

Being nothing more than a golf playing fried chicken, you would have no idea about what it takes to be effective in public service.

He's a complete arsehole (easy to see why you're attracted to him).

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Don't they all do that?  Why ought this 73 year old yanker get some sort of special extra reward by way of such an obvious tax payer funded sinecure?  What do you reckon Bronny ought get when she finally buggers off?

Because he is more useful and more effective than you (or me).
