Firstly, Australia does what it is told to by USA which was a strong supporter of Indonesia at that time.

Secondly, Australia had suffered defeat in Vietnam and it was unlikely Australia could have defeated Indonesia. If it did, occupation of Indonesia would have been costly.

Thirdly, war with Indonesia could have sparked South East Asia regional conflict which could have killed more people than Australia could have saved if it acted.

Your ignorance in this subject is a source of constant amazement.

24 Aircraft x 50 x 500lbs per sortie all on top of Jakarta, would have given them impetus to rethink their invasion plans

We could have bombed them into the friggen stone age and told them to leave, no invasion needed, General Einstein.

Why do you think we bought the things, not just airshow to impress numpties like you.

Thanks for agreeing that Australia does what it is told by USA.

How do you feel about South Vietnam being forcibly overtaken by the North

If there was strong opposition in South Vietnam or no support in the South it would not have happened. It is arguable that there was considerable support in the South for unified Vietnam.
You do know that the north and south were fighting before the American's arrived. There was majority  support against unification right throughout South Vietnam. There was communist support (viet cong) throughout the countryside. South Vietnamese are different to the northerners in certain ways like speech, culture, religion etc. It was wrong of the north to invade the south.

If the overwhelming majority of the South Vietnamese wanted to be separate from the North they would have remained so.

You do understand how wars work don't you?

You may want something but if you lose the war what you want is irrelevant, do you understand this?

Why do you bother commenting on this subject you seem utterly devoid of any understanding of it at all.

Bigol64 you are a genius. Who could ever have deduced such a clever concept.

However the fact remains that many South Vietnamese were not committed to fighting against North Vietnam.

As far as you are concerned it was a lack of "want" that allowed the invasion to succeed, which is why I am absolutely sure you suffer some sort severe retardation causing you to believe the drivel you write.

They lost due to a myriad of reasons, "want" wasn't one of them.  Grin Grin Grin

No country has ever lost a war because they didn't "want" hard enough

USA didn't want enough? That is arguable and brings us back to the original question:

I don't know what you are on about Take It Till You Cry. I sort of get the feeling you are trying to insult Australians like usual. Is that correct??

No, it was not. Now see if you can work out why. Since you are our military genius in residence.  Grin

They even look different.... I once met a guy and said immediately, "You're Cambodian!"  He said, "How do you know?"

I know..... they look different....
