The Coalition agreed to fund Gonski before the election....A unity ticket with Labor Abbott called it....Now when the Coalition are found to be full of bullshit the faithful excuse their lies and back flips because they are just as deceitful and underhanded as the party they support....Take a look at yourselves before condemning others for taking the Coalition on their word!!!

We can easily fund Education & Health.

Instead of baby boomers only paying 15% tax on money invested into super they can pay 20 or even 25%.

They still get their "I've paid tax for years" special discount.

And seeing as they cost the most on the health side they actually are living their mantra of "User Pays"

They must have learnt from Howard.

Howard didn't borrow to fund his spending, ya mug!  Grin Grin Grin

No, he just sold everything. Trouble is we're still handing the freebies out today long after there's nothing left to sell off.

he sold off decaying monuments.....take a look at Telstra shares.....

public assets are meant to be sold off in times of need... the govt owns just about every stick in the country its just the towers we build on them..

get real.. when times are good the govt buys... when times are tough... they sell..

just like you and I do..

check out cash converters..

Cods, there is not much of a problem with selling assets that are not useful for government. The problems arise when the sale proceeds are used to fund recurrent expenses. Especially when it is political suicide to start removing the freebies once the cash runs out.

he sold it to pay off KEATINGS MASSIVE DEBT....

that is why.....

and he didnt leave labor a MASSIVE DEBT>>>

for goodness sakes give some credit where its due..

what freebees got to do with anything?>????...

I dont get any so I havent a clue what you are on about.

Funny you say that. Keatings' debt is a pittance compared to Rudd'd debt.

I think you mean Tony's debt.

No, Tony inherited Rudd's debt.

Just how is a business supposed to fund improvements in clean technology investment if they're being double-taxed by government? Where do they get the money to buy cleaner technology? Coal power has become vastly cleaner over time and how did that occur? It wasn't by government taxing them - it was by businesses investing in cleaner technology. The market is the best way of introducing change, not government. You're the biggest knob of them all.

Ahh, that stupid old argument, eh? So why didn't Labor do something about Howards' spending? It's not like they didn't have the time and the means. You're an idiot.

double taxed?  Grin Grin Grin paying additional tax for polluting is not double tax.
and they can fund it the same way everyone else does. Are you allowed to dump your rubbish on the street? does the govt. pay you to use the garbage bin?
