opinion/analysis
Standard response from the NBN company here, but seasoned readers will note that the company is now including the following phrasing in its statements: ” with an upgrade path to meet future demand”.

Fibre to the Distribution Point (FTTdp)/G.Fast is indeed coming, people. Watch for a formal announcement over the next six months from our Prime Minister as to how the odious FTTN millstone around his neck will be neutered as an election issue.

But, but , but this cannot be. Mr Turdbull promised that FTTN was the way to go. Surely not another backflip by this pack of incompetent fools. I am dreading what we will end up with and what it will cost.

In your case any advancement in the great information super highway will be wasted anyway, may as well just provide you with endless reruns of sesame street, this would keep you occupied for endless hours as you tried to keep up with cookie monster as he counted to twelve.

Actually you helped me, I see profound idiocy in the form of you and it uplifts me because I realise that there but for the grace of God go I, all it would have taken is for a few molecules here and there to be rearranged in my brain and hey presto I would have been as stupid as you.

I don't take this luck lightly, it is not my job to sit back and gloat, it is my job to try and reeducate to save others from their genetically programmed path to stupidity.

http://www.buddeblog.com.au/frompaulsdesk/the-end-of-the-nbn-missed-opportunity-...

NBN project nearing its end with a huge opportunity cost for Australia.

I knew that the MTM would be a failure even before it was announced.

In 2008 or 2009 I attended a public meeting called by A. Southcotte MHR that was addressed by Turncoat.

After crapping on about “infrastructure competition” and praising the NZ & UK FTTN rollouts the meeting was thrown open to questions. All the questions from the Lib luvvies there were about problems with their landlines! Other meetings Turncoat attended would have been similar—and STILL the dufus went ahead with FTTN.

In the meantime the kiwis said “sod this” about FTTN and started out with FTTH and never looked back. The Brits are in huge trouble with their FTTC[abinet, i.e. Node] which is producing woeful results.

Truffles just announced his meaningless Innovation agenda—it needs FTTH to make it work but the NBN wasn’t mentioned at all.

I call it treason.

Treason, predatory practices (Telstra can keep monopoly on copper but not fibre) and the country just keeps going backwards relative to our neighbors and trading partners.

When is the upgrade?

We never seem to get anything.

Fiber to the node or fiber to the home - so far zero.

You think you are the only one?

This will take a decade to fix thanks to LNP inaction.
