All Over So Soon
Jan 29th, 2016 at 6:54am

Interesting how quickly the Turnbull Adventure has fallen apart.

Does he believe in anything? Not in gay marriage, this year. Not in the Republic, in the next thirty years. Not in abortion rights. Not in the Gonski education plans for the Disabled. Not in balancing the Budget.

Not in a ‘small-l’ Liberal Party, whilever Abbott is keen to work out, and Abetz to work out, like the DLP, a semifascist alternative.

He seems not to have a party at all. He seems obliged to defend ‘the 73 Club’ — Bishop, Heffernan, Ruddock — into their eightieth year. He seems obliged to destroy the provincial ABC, whatever the Nationals want.

If you vote for Turnbull, who do you get?

Not his party. He doesn’t have a party.

He doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Timid Turnbull is revealing his cowardice.
What a disappointment for progressive supporters of the Liberal Party.

Falling apart? Doesn't he lead Shorten as preferred PM by something like 85-15?

Gonski is a funding agreement for education whilst the NDIS funds the disabled....The Coalition agreed to fully implement both policies before the last election and have now turned their backs on the underprivileged and disabled....The Coalition have shown they cannot be trusted no matter who leads their dirty lying little party!!!

Actually, it was Gillard who did that when she unfunded the existing arrangements at the time and left nothing in place while she sorted out her NDIS thought bubble, which meant that for a long time, the disabled and underprivileged had basically no support from government because of Gillards' incompetence.

Gillard only partially funded it and, knowing she wouldn't survive another term, left it for the Liberals to salvage.

Huh Huh Huh

Something that seems to have been missed by most on here is that Turnbull has learned his lesson from his first turn at the top job. That lesson is that you lead a party, not occupy a throne. He can lead the party but if the party doesnt follow then there is no leadership at all. The Libs as a party dont want an ETS and in fact oppose it strongly. Therefore, Turnbull cannot simply say he supports it because that's not how leadership operates.  It appears that very few have twigged that Turnbull's policies are actually those of the the Liberal Party. Funny, that. And as a result he has a commanding lead in the polls and a truly massive lead in preferred PM.

What Turnbull has done is learned how to be a true leader. He can steer the ship to a certain degree, but he cannot unilaterally decide policy. He tried that last time and lost the job.

It is the Liberal Party, not the Turnbull Party and he now knows it.

so you want gillard to fund liberal policies now?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Shouldn't abbott have made sure he could fund it BEFORE making the promise to fund it? Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
