The woman hasn't been born yet who has even the VAGUEST idea of what their pre-marital boyfriends' characters are like. It's a Darwinian thing. Nature just wants to see procreative INTERCOURSE - and bugger the divorce courts and domestic violence, etc.

As long as they're shagging without contraceptives - Darwin and Nature are happy.

That's absolute rubbish Herbert.  Did you type that just to get a rise?

All of which goes to show that women are their own worst enemy when it comes to picking life partners, and should be rigidly held under the thumb and commanded by their father to choose a good boy....  most women wouldn't know a decent bloke if they fell over him, and when they get one, they act out on him until they convert him into the scum they want...

Again with the "most women"?   Perhaps you mix in the wrong circles?

Amazing.. simply amazing...

One of my older man rules is to NEVER entertain thoughts of a relationship with a woman who has nothing good to say about her past husband(s).... there are always two sides to every story......

Women have the same rule too you know.  The average middle aged man holds more baggage than the average middle aged woman.  Most of them are very bitter about 'losing' their home to the wife and kids whilst giving no consideration to the wife's contributions either monetary or otherwise.

BO is an expurt on women.. he writes books you know????...

his bitterness is well known..

so we have a bit of pot calling the kettle when he talks about women not being able to pick a decent guy... look whos talking..
]
hahaha.. I have yet to see one decent comment from grap about women..

he is more filled with his bad experiences than  numpty... Grin Grin Grin Grin..

of course I do think grap goes looking for his women in the wrong places.. he does like the lap dancing types..

I can read.  You are male....and you are an 'expurt' on women.  Which bit of that did you have trouble with, Black Orchid?

It isn't until you start talking DV Mothra, that you see just how many men not only don't get it, but are committed to staying completely ignorant, and wear that ignorance like a badge of honour.

I find it quite astonishing how many blame the woman. From Herb's "nagging" to Aussie saying that a large number of women wanting child support are bitches ... and i've forgotten which wing-nut said it was down to women choosing bad men ... no comment on the ownership of the men themselves.

2 women die every week. Tens of thousands are in dangerous waters. This is a national embarrassment.

I find it astonishing how terribly many blame the man... even before the chickens are counted.

You should try for real the way our government instruments handle 'dv'... from the side of a person who can be assaulted, violated, and even imprisoned and disempowered for LIFE... on a whim.

Walk a mile in a man's shoes in this dispute created by women demanding that the world run their way.. something it will never do.

While ever you need nothing of substance as the excuse to call down the thunder on a man.. you will only ever generate violence pure and simple.... since what you are doing IS violence pure and simple.

And violence will always generate a response.

Mothra - I respect you and your views greatly - but these are not MY gender politics.  They are gender politics of those who choose to arbitrarily make me their enemy... and then forced upon me.  I only came into this game on a very secondary basis.... and thus was forced onto the defensive immediately since I am not the aggressor.

You really must begin to see these things on a truly equal basis... something that will never be achieved as long as we hold to the "man bad - woman angel" nonsense.

The real war is about to begin... the one promoted and engineered by feminists and government in order to draw men into an unequal battle in which they hold no weapons and genuinely have no interest.

Is it any wonder then that when weapons are drawn.... some men respond by winning their skirmish?

Stop attacking men.... and men will stop attacking you.

I understand his gender politics. I am a male and have 3 sons. My wife would agree with much of what Grap gripes about.

I'm a little pissed(hic, cods you shoulda been here!) but let me try and relate something, nothing to do with violence per se, but a situation my son was put in as part of his prac in nursing. He was sent to Lismore High to give a sex ed talk, including rape, peer pressure etc. He turned up and was given a pre-written talk. He read it screwed it into a ball and binned it.

He gave his talk, not according as planned by I think the female school counsellor. On rape and consent he started out with the analogy of asking a girl home. You ask her if she wants a hot coffee, she agrees, yes. She has consented to drink your coffee. If you then return to find her asleep on the lounge do you then pour the hot coffee down her throat because, after all she said she wanted it? Class cracks up laughing. Yep, they can see the point.

It then turned to drinking and consent. It is rape after all if a woman is pissed and consents but then decides the next day she didn't want to. He told the room that was wrong and that the man and woman were equally able to consent or not. The school counsellor interrupted him and told him this was not true, that women who were pissed could not give informed consent as they were impaired. He asked her in front of the class, long story short, "so you are saying women are less capable and inferior?" Apparently her face dropped, she took two steps back and let him continue.

I talked to the lady he was under as she works as part of community nursing Wednesdays at the Winsome Hotel where I volunteer as I was afraid there may be some repercussion of tossing the script. Nope, rave revue, one of the best students sent there.

Anyway, the point is... Things are not equal, men are treated badly and are expected to cop it sweet, you do not fix a problem unless you address it's cause and men are only part of the problem not the problem. You girls are not saints and need to carry your share.

Edit: And if you think I know nothing about domestic violence... I can tell you some stories. Grap has shared some of his.

Women didn't start attacking men. Men have had unequal power over women for centuries. Still do.

Some men are violent Grap. Howwould you prefer us to respond to that?

Who said women were saints?

But DV effects women more than men.

Would you disagree?

Nothing will change the minds of the willfully ignorant Grap- I like you but that disappoint's- I think the older generation of men will/are never going to get  it - we will have to effect change in the young men coming up and already the mind set by younger men is much more enlightened regarding attitudes to women. I can't talk to those of you who excuse away your dangerous attitudes which only serves to compound the problem- listen to the young men and learn!
