New form of denialism
Dec 4th, 2015 at 3:21pm

Needed because too many cranks and fools had joined the denialist crowd and were destroying any rationale it had.

So—existing renewable energy generation is too expensive and windfarms are harmful to health so we should stop deploying solar/wind and do research. I guess the hope is to delay action against AGW for a few more decades, more profit for dinosaur assets.

Such at least is the thesis here:

'public acceptance of climate science is slowly increasing'

That wasn't the story the other day when there was wailing and gashing of teeth over ' opponents of climate change appear to be winning the war of words.'

My interest in fossil fuel is to keep my and my childrens energy bill to a level that is cheap. I don't and will not subscribe to a pseudo science that uses manipulated empirical data and moving goal posts around when their failed models fail again.

Younger than global warming in terms of use by the AGW loons to describe their pseudo science hypothesis.

No, how old specifically.  I'm just curious as to why you think such an old term is somehow been a recent addition to the scientific language.

He never said it was a recent addition.

Climate change never worked out for the loons so they generalized to cover any scenario and switched to screaming climate change. Which of course the bloody climate changes all the bloody time. The only ones in denial are the retards that have no life and spout this bullsheet.

I don’t know about “hippie” but yeah, RWNJs have so degraded the pro–fossil fuel movement attacking the science of AGW that the fossil fuel interests are looking for a new way to delay the move to renewable energy.

I dont cite the media. I actually read peer reviewed scientific articles published in numerous prestigious Journals.

Have you ever done that Jethro?

Or do you exclusively rely on media Videos to construct your public sermons of lunacy and putrid foul stenching deception vomit?

You demand an apology and yet do not attach a self banishment punishment to this written apology.

They, the powers that be, all want to play the forcing move of delay that makes Nuclear Power increasingly the only option.
This is the start of resource bottlenecks- the politics is whether or not the powers that be will let you use Nuclear Power or not. The pecking order for the new era is set by this.

Who can use Nuclear Power now? Why?

Who can use Nuclear Power in the future? Why?

Nuclear Power is used by states who can then make Nuclear Weapons... we all wait until the big dicks have sorted it out!

What are you going to do- complain?

Aren't you all 'conspired out'  by now? Why was it again, that a conspiracy exists to 'promote' public acceptance of CLIMATE CHANGE.?

What is the aim?  NO I don't accept. ..  as proposed on other threads, that scientists are simply after research funds.  I mean seriously, what would be the reason,  the  rationale, behind presenting ALL THESE LIES to the public.?

Yes, well: I was in Mexico last year for my brothers wedding and... there are practicalities of life that get in the way I suppose. They have 100 million people over there and the Americans bought land off them when they were in debt- land with gold and water and something else i forget now.

You go to a pub over there and you will be told you're going to die if you aren't careful as their history is full of so called revolutionarys famous for killing white people. My brother had blue-heeler dogs(apparently quite popular over there now) whose names i found out later were famous for... KILLING WHITE PEOPLE  Roll Eyes I must have been drinking too much tequila to laugh at that but now I think about it it wasn't that funny. Actually, now I remember why i don't drink tequila  Wink Wink

Full stop, the practicalities of life mean we aren't all born rich. Saying that, we shouldn't waste what we've got.

The majority of people were of course awesome sauce: but there was a big gap between rich and poor and if you went to a public school it was only for four hours a day and that sort of thing.

But if you want to see lots of whales then go to Mexico- you sit on the beach watching like 4 whales and then 8 whales and then you can't count how many whales all jumping out of the water and that's like normal to them.

..and the beach is warm water: they reckon they don't even go for a swim in summer as it doesn't make any difference  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

...

..but--> if you have no reason to go there then don't bother: whilst it wasn't a hot bed of criminal activity the place where those guys got killed was just north of this Quimixto area!

we are so insular here in Oz, we think we are indestructible, 'cos the current generational spread has never really had it that bad.

It's sad about the two surfers.

Ignorance of risk and foolhardiness never means immunity from danger tho. The world doesn't operate to our agendas.

Sounds like you are happy to be back in Oz.

Yes and no: some of it is jungle, and has mudslides as they have mountains right on the sea due to it basically being very close to the fault lines , and they create their own moisture for clouds and rain. Depends where you mean? When jungles start dying out then we'll all be far more concerned with the anarchy that proceeds it i'm sure!

Oh, you mean inland: I just went for a holiday so I never saw the real mexico: my brother said the country is mostly pretty bleak and poor and ultimately dangerous. The coast is pretty cool if you remain careful: marinos (read, 'marines') outside your beach hotel and stuff...  Shocked Shocked Shocked ... it's an eye opener!

I've never seen an armoured vehicle with a gun turret before: and all those blokes with machine guns... yeh,.. it's all coming back to me now!

They will be back there right this very moment because they have long festivals for Christmas and fireworks and like drums everywhere... ...

That may be the church where my brother got married actually... they have a church like every 8 streets but this is one of the most popular ones.
