Yes - spring is in the air -  officially only 2 weeks to go.

Let's hope we get a break from this cold weather.

Ha! You sound like my mum.

We're never allowed to complain about the cold weather here in Oz because....when/where she grew up, no one could open doors or windows for months because of 3 metres of snow.

Just thinking here, I probably should ask her how they all went to the loo. They only ever had one...and it was an outside loo. There were 9 kids + 2 parents = 11 people. Hmmmm. Wonder what she'll tell me when I throw this question at her today lol.

Country people... all very weird if you ask me  Tongue

Anyway....

Spring is here.
Saw wattles in bloom last weekend.
This weekend more wattles and the smell of spring.

Re chokos.

The last one I picked off the vine wasn't all too big.

So I thought... ohhh well...I'll cut it up with some spuds and throw it into a soup to use it up.

I left it on an outside table and completely forgot about it...until yesterday's bbq lunch. There it was behind a pot plant, facing the sun, and it had somehow, despite total neglect and abandonment started to sprout.

I kid you not, it's now sitting on the back patio table on an old dinner plate....a new choko vine, growing out of a mediocre sized choko...all by itself with no soil, no water, no bloody nothing.

Don't believe me?

No worries.

I myself still don't believe it.

And I'm looking at it as I type this.

I need to take a pic of that...nature's absolutely remarkably resilient if you ask me.

Beautiful day yesterday - today windy and cold again and frosts coming for at least two days again.. Old Man Winter hasn't quite given up the fight...  fruit trees are starting to bud - hope the wind stays away while they flower and the bees get to them...

Don't much like broad beans - had 'em on year.... Snow peas are looking good... carrots are fine - need thinning out...

I've tried growing carrots.

I just could not get them to grow long and straight.

I had to rip them all out in the end.  Sad
