Ahh ... your confidence is the issue here.

No worries. For a quick confidence boost, try growing :

Broad beans

Potatoes

Chokos

Seriously Sprint, they are dead easy to grow.

Everyone around you will think you've got the best green thumbs in Oz lol  Tongue

If interested, just let me know. I'm more than happy to give you a few tips. Smiley

we had snow on Canberra last week...

is it choko time??..

No! Choko's hate the cold...and it's still cold.

My 2 choko vines still look cut back with minimum growth.

Now if you wanna talk BROAD BEANS or PASSION FRUIT.... Smiley

I have an electric blanket for mine lisa so alls good..

my recipes for chokos are such a best seller... I cant afford not to have all year round chokes... I am always inventing...I now doing choko fudge...yummo I can tell you...chokos are also good in a  foot bath... I will pass that on at no cost as I realise how important good feet are to the world..

yes please dear show us your chokos... I am sure they are extraordinary

Don't much like broad beans - had 'em on year.... Snow peas are looking good... carrots are fine - need thinning out...

I've tried growing carrots.

I just could not get them to grow long and straight.

I had to rip them all out in the end.  Sad

A lot of ours do that too... I had the answer last week from the guy who comes here to help build - I'll get back to you.

when it comes to building - here is why women should stay out of it and  not use the table saw without goggles....  it's only sawdust in the eyes....

Nah - prefer Romas grown from seed - never get any fruit fly.... but I love Truss... very nice grown from a fruit bought from a supermarket and used as seed - same as I do my garlic.

Yummmm - garlic....

Snow peas are right now - in the words of Monty Burns - excellent... garden work this weekend.. getting ready for spring with all that accumulated fireplace ash and compost....

Strawberries dug out and replanted with plenty of ash..... big season coming.... usually have so many we give them to the Salvos who give them out to people who love them.... and often whose kids need something extra.....

Now if only I can keep the neighbourhood kids off my peaches this year - best not to go away for a couple of days.... but they can have them.....

The possums get all my fruit -

& of course the green parrots don't help.

The Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos and a few others get all my plums at the top of the tree - can't reach 'em anyway and they're welcome.. wish they wouldn't eat through the branches on the Hakeas though - they're a wind break and the nuts get into the mower blades and fly like bullets.

I'm ditching the mesh over the peaches and nectarines - caught a flying fox last year and he strangled himself... I hated that.  They can get some of the fruit as long as I get some too.

Might get that cherry tree or two this year.... not bare rooted stock though - too long to start at my age... a pear or two and an apple or two....
